Shuin just stared at the cat as he tried to explain how cats didn't fall out but he wasn't doing all that well. A branch, that was it? That didn't make much sense, he could find a crouch branch but he'd probably fall off. No wonder dogs weren't meant to climb trees. Cats didn't have dreams then? Maybe that's why they never fell out of a tree. They just never had any dreams to stir them. "No wonder you cats never fall out, you hardly ever dream. Canines dream a lot, but sometimes we're lucky enough to get a dream at all." Shuin lightly nodded.
His eyes scanned the the area, no movements just yet, this forest seemed to be big, so if there were anyone that owned this place, they still could be a ways away. "They could still be a while away if anyone has claimed this land. Don't says things like that will you? I'm already a bit shaken up by it if you couldn't tell already." Shuin said,a slight smirk on his face. As if the cat could tell anyway other then when he was up in that blasted tree. The feline must not yet be aware of his "condition" and Shuin was hoping it would stay like that for as long as it could. He couldn't use a friend...even if it was feline. A friend was a friend was a friend.
Shuin followed the cat willingly. He needed to find somewhere to live and caves always felt like home...really one of the only things he liked about home. All it needed was bits and pieces of the forest to lay around the ground and it would be almost perfect. It would be extra warm in the winter and cool in the summer. He began to wonder why any animal that didn't sleep in a cave didn't bother even trying it for a year. They'd surely see the gain from it. "So Kudos, you are an...Ocelot? Well, I am a Gray Wolf who has left his pack for many reasons and has been roaming ever since. Felines are normally alone when they don't live in prides, but do you have a reason for being alone?" Shuin asked, it really wasn't his business, but he felt like talking to the feline. He was after all, helping him find a home.

Kudos paused in midstride and shook his head. "As you said, I'm an Ocelot. My kind don't live together. We do... our thing, and get on with life. We don't have life partners or groups." He gave a small smile. "Some Ocelots do get sick of living alone and stick with another who feels that way too. I haven't been that fortunate to find someone like that." Kudos let his golden orbs rest on the grey wolf for a moment before he turned ahead again. He scrutinized the land in front of him, but he couldn't see much because of the foliadge in front of him. His ears, however, picked up the distant sound of roaring water. Most likely a waterfall. Where there's a waterfall there are usually rocks, and cliffs.
Kudos' short stride lengthened and quickend as the thought of finding a cave became more evident. He wanted to help this wolf out. He didn't like having someone he knew having to sleep out in the cold. Being without a home. "C'mon wolf! This way!" Kudos suddenly began to run. His long feline limbs quickly eating up the distance between him and the falls.

Shuin nodded and understood what he was going through. Wolves were almost always in a pack. It was the feeling of family and friends, to be a pack member was to be apart of one big family. Of course there are also lone wolves. Ones that ether exile themselves, get forced out of the pack, or just leave for another place. Being without a pack left a void inside of Shuin's heart, but he had to leave. The feeling that a pack had given him was a strong one, but he managed to ignore it and leave them forever. He didn't regret what his decision, but sometimes he wondered what would have happened if he stayed.
Now Shuin was a little sick of being alone. He could take care of himself well, but the company of another always welcomed. Finding another wolf would have been great, he was tired of being alone. All he had for company now though, was a feline, but Shuin didn't care. It was sure better then nothing at all. "You'll find someone if you just keep looking." Shuin replied as his ears caught the sound of a waterfall. Shuin bolted towards the sound as well. Where there was a waterfall, there was a cave or two. Maybe even a cave behind the waterfall? Shuin always wondered about those. Were they cold? How long was the cave? How big could it be? These questions always entered his mind whenever he came across a waterfall, and that was hardly ever. "Check to see if there are any caves behind the waterfall!" Shuin called out to the cat, temporarily slowing to get his words out.

When Kudos heard the wolf's pawsteps quicken he began to run himself. He couldn't explain why, but he suddenly began to get excited that he was closer to finding the cave for the wolf. Within seconds the waterfall came into view, and, sure enough, the crags and crevaces looked like they would sport a few caves. Kudos slowed down as he listened to the wolf speak. A cave behind a waterfall? That doesn't sound like something I would like at all! You wouldn't be able to see if someone is coming for you. He gave a mental shrug and continued to walk. If the wolf wanted a cave behind a waterfall, then Kudos would try to find one. Kudos surged forward again, his pace making him look like a golden orange blur.

The constant churning of the waterfall turned the river below it into a stormy white blur. It was impossible to see anything, but Leviathan was navigating by vibration - the snagging of water on tree roots and the tumbling of the river stones allowed him to swim upriver underwater without crashing embarrasingly into the banks or riverbed. However, there was no vibration that alerted him to the presence of prey. With an impatient snort, he swam to the surface, allowing only his eyes and nostrils to emerge into air. A golden blur caught his eye, and he turned his head to see a small cat running alongside the river. Hmm. A fellow hunter? Or prey? Would it be worth the effort for a morsel like that? He waited, hidden by the swirling water.

A peculier scent reached Kudos' nostrils making him make an immediate stop. His sudden halt made branches and leaves fly. His sharp eyes and ears scanned his the waterfall and rocks ahead, his nostrils quivering as he attempted to place the smell that delicately laced the air around him. His golden eyes saw nothing different and his ears were too pounded by the roar of the waterfall to detect even the slightest rustle of an approaching animal. A feeling of fear creapt up on him causing his golden fur to stand on end. He felt that something wanted to eat him, but he didn't know where that something was. That thought unnerved him and so he waited for the wolf to catch up. He knew that the wolf was bigger and probably stronger then he, and so would be better at fighting whatever was looking at the cat. When the wolf didn't appear right away Kudos began to get more frightened, knowing that whatever was out there could be right behind him for all he knew. This resulted in the small Ocelot turning in quick circles, his ears flat against his skull, tail mimiking a bottle brush, and his back began to arch with his fear.

As Shuin caught up he could smell the stench of fear. Something was wrong and he needed to stop immediately. He quickly jammed his paws down in the dirt and sat his rump down to come skidding in until he was but five feet from Kudos, a dust trail fallowing him all the way. He stood back up on all fours and watched Kudos do his defensive movements. His own hair seemed to raise up and start to look spiky. The roar of the waterfall was all his ears that now stood directly up in the air could catch and his nose only smelled Kudos and water.
"What is it? I can't see, smell, or hear anything out of place." Shuin's cold tone hid his danger feeling he was experiencing. Something was out of place, whatever it was. Shuin's eyes scanned the waterfall and then the surrounding forest...nothing but dead silence, other than the waterfall of course.
