What a beautiful day..... thought the lone figure swimming through the salty water of the sea. Her gorgeous, creamy white body glided with ease through the waters, her tail gracefully propelling her at a leisurely pace. The beluga whale smiled as she looked down at the corral reefs below her. She had lived in the ocean all her life, though that was a mere four years, and yet it never ceased to amaze her.
"Hello," she greeted the tiny, colorful fish around her. Some returned her greeting, others swam away in fear of her great size. She didn't much mind. Siren was almost never offended, even when insulted. Indeed, it was rare for the great sea dweller to feel any emotion other than happiness and peace, with perhaps a bit of excitement thrown in when meeting someone she had not yet met.
Stopping several feet out from the shore, she lifted her shimmery head out of the water and gazed at the land with deep purple eyes. Her pupils, lined in bright lime green, took in the trees, and the sky, and the dry ground. As much as she loved the sea, Siren couldn't help wonder what land was like. She wished she were an animal like the otter or the sea turtle that could go on both land and water for long amounts of time. Still, she was happy with the ocean, and she was a skilled swimmer.
The land, however, was something new to her. Back when she had lived in a pod of belugas, Siren had never seen land. It was only when she was separated from her friends and family that she first saw the land that she now looked at. Ever since then, she had been curious about it.
Oh well. At least there aren't so many hungry sharks around here, she thought. There were hungry sharks everywhere, even here, though the amount was far fewer, and it was much safer in this place than where she had been before. And, for what she was most thankful, there didn't appear to be any humans here.

(I guess I'm that anyone? Unless you want Terra to post first.)
Tooth smiled his classic toothy smile as he glided through the water like it was nothing. His dorsal fin cutting the water's surface and seemed to spark the instinct of fear on the land dwelling animals. He paid no attention to the fish that swam away from him. He was slightly surprised though, to see some swim alongside him as if he was one of them. "Foolish pray, I'll make sure to show you later on why you shouldn't be so bold."
Although he did mean his thoughts, the fish beside him made him even lonelier then before. They reminded him of his family back out in the ocean. He so missed them dearly, but they were right. He had changed slightly ever since that incident with the seals. Maybe his destination would help solve his problems, and correct his way of thinking to be back to normal? Little did he know, this was supposed to be how his mind worked.
It was when Tooth came around a bend he almost froze in the water. He only moved enough to get the water through his gills so he could breath. Like a stealth submarine, he made no sound as he slowly neared the thing he wanted to be true so bad. "A dolphin? Here? No, this must be a trick of the mind, or...or...it can't be true. No...it has to be, it must be, it is! Another dolphin, a friend!"
Tooth's mouth was fully open and it showed every row of teeth he had. He suddenly sped up, swimming as fast as he could go. Like a torpedo, he sliced through the water as if it didn't even have a hold on him. The massive shark had a glint in its eyes as it sped towards the dolphin, happy that he had found one. He wasn't thinking that he looked like he was about to take a chunk out of the dolphin. That he looked like every other shark did when they were about to attack. "Hey you!" Tooth shouted as he neared.

((It's fine.))
Siren didn't notice the cold-blooded preditor until she heard a shout. Spinning around to see who had called to her, her eyes widened as she saw a large shark headed for her like a torpedo, mouth agape. Then again, I could be wrong, she thought, in correction to her last statement. The beluga quickly turned and tried to put some distance between them as she let out a fearful cry and a few clicks of warning. She then turned back to face her enemy, watching him carefully and preparing to attack with her tail if necessary.
"P-Please don't attack me," she begged. Trying to sound tough next, in case the plea failed, she spoke again. "I'll fight back if I have to!" She thrashed her tail slightly as a display of strength and readiness to fight if needed. Still, she didn't feel like fighting today, or any day for that matter, for her life. She didn't really like any kind of fighting at all. The white whale only wanted to make friends and live peacefully. This shark, however, was the biggest she had ever seen, and she wasn't sure how well a battle with it would end.

It was swimming away, why was it swimming away? All he wanted was to talk to another dolphin again, to not be so alone on his journey. Maybe it could even help him fix his mind? It was a good possibility for dolphins were always smart. He beamed at that thought, happy to give his family a compliment.
The dolphin suddenly slowed and turned around and begged not to be attacked. Attacked? Why would she...no...unless she could see what his family had seen that one day? A threat was uttered in his direction, it was prepared to fight him off. Did he really come off like he was going to attack? Tooth suddenly came to a screeching crawl in front of the...beluga? Great Whites always had bad eyesight and Tooth was no exception. His eyes suddenly took in a disappointed and sad look...this was no dolphin. "Oh...your just a whale...I thought you were a dolphin...a friend but apparently not. Do not worry, I wasn't going to attack you and I won't in the future. My name is Tooth, born and raised out in the ocean by my family pod of dolphins, may I ask the whale's name? Oh, oh, do you know where any seals are? I'm a tad hungry right now and I could use a seal snack." Tooth's eyes lit up and he grinned at the thought of flipping a seal out of the water and then having it come back down to land in his mouth. His huge mouth then clamped down in a snap and quickly opened again. He was clearly picturing eating a seal at that moment.

"Dolphin?" Siren asked, very confused. "You were raised by dolphins?" She was amazed at the fact. It sounded so.... out of the ordinary. But what if it was a trick? What if he was trying to catch her off guard so that he could have a snack? Then she saw the sadness in his eyes. It looked authentic, but maybe he was just a good acter......
The beluga flinched slightly as he mentioned a seal. She could just see a big monster like that versus a small, virtually helpless seal.... It wasn't a pretty sight. But I suppose every creature does have to eat, she thought. "No, I haven't seen any seals around this area, but I know there are some that live around here."
Siren hesitated, then assumed a more relaxed position. She stayed alert, however, in case this creature would change his mind when he couldn't find a seal.
"My name is Siren," the white beauty answered. Even though she was still a bit nervous, she wanted to hear about Tooth's life with dolphins.... If it was real. "I don't mean to be rude, but I must ask; were you really raised by dolphins? What was it like?"

No seals around here? Then what was he going to eat...more fish? He sighed, it looked like he'd be eating schools of fish until he found a decent meal in a few seals. He looked at her slightly annoyed. Was it too hard to believe or something? Maybe it was for other animals, or maybe only dolphins understood his life.
"A pleasure to meet you Siren, a warning to you though, don't bleed around me, if you value your life, don't bleed." Satisfied that he had made his warning, he decided to explain his life so far to this confused whale. "I do not lie, my family of dolphins are the only family I know. It was a normal family, what more can I say? They raised me ever since I could see. They taught me a lot of things while growing up. My time with them changed however, when I protected my family from a horde of seals that had attacked them. To say the least they don't have to worry about them anymore. The protecting and killing I did though, has changed me somehow. My family could see it in my eyes, I was different. They sent me on a journey to 'find' myself and here I am. I was so happy to see another dolphin...but it turned out to be you." He was telling the truth and it showed in eyes.
The look his pod had seen was the look of a predator that saw them as food. It was the same look Tooth was giving Siren, but Tooth is a shark true to his word. If he said he wasn't going to eat you, he wasn't...but that all goes down the tube once you start bleeding.

Siren listened, intrigued by Tooth's words. A shark raised by dolphins.... A shark that actually protected them.... It was unusual. It was probably a good thing for the pod of dolphins to have someone like Tooth to protect them, but it was still such an unusual thing, it took Siren a moment to grasp it.
After the great white finished, Siren was silent for a moment, then, wanting to make him feel better, she spoke. "Well, I'm not exactly a dolphin, but dolphins are related to whales, and my kind, belugas, that is, are more like dolphins than whales. But, if it makes you feel better, I guess that all does make me a dolphin..... Sort of...." The female thought again, pondering over what she had said. I guess white whales are sort of a cross between a whale and a dolphin....
Siren had made the mistake of letting her guard down as Tooth had talked. He sounded completely honest, but, she reminded herself, it was probably still best to be prepared for anything.
"Well, that is a most interesting story, Tooth," she said, realizing just how large and sharp his teeth were as she said his name. "But, how does one go about finding theirself?" Before he could answer, she frowned slightly. "Sorry, stupid question. I suppose if you know the answer, you wouldn't be trying to find yourself any more."

Siren's words managed to put a smile on his face for a few seconds. She was nice, he'd have to be extra careful not to think of her as food. "Thank you, but I will see you for what you really are, not what you sort of, kind of, in a way resemble." "And not as a hunk of meat." Tooth added inside his head. Tooth frowned, he had no idea on how to find himself. He shook his head and for a shark it was a very interesting thing to look at for half his body shook along with his head.
"You're right, if I knew I wouldn't be here right now, but the sad truth is I have no idea. I've been traveling for a while now and have constantly been thinking over how I could do this...but it...must be too hard or something because I havn't found the answer. I was almost hoping that you would...have an idea." Tooth admitted, hope shining in his eyes. Perhaps this whale would know the answer he was searching for?
He had waited long enough for the knowledge of how to be his normal self again, and was beginning to wonder whether or not he'd be able to return to normal. He was hoping that he would meet someone who was wise enough to know the answer. He had heard that whales were smart, not as smart as dolphins though, as his pod would always continually point out, but were still pretty smart. Perhaps the one before him knew the answer or could help him in finding himself again.
Little did the two know, however, that if Tooth truly found himself, the ocean as we know it would be forever changed.
((*dramatic frightening music plays in the background* Hehe, just what am I planning?))

Siren frowned slightly as he explained that he was hoping she could help. She thought for a moment before answering. "I really don't know what your family meant for you to do by 'finding yourself' or of anyway I could help. But," she paused slightly, not completely sure if she should continue, "I will try to help you in anyway that I can, Tooth." The white whale smiled at him, and her eyes seemed to sparkle. She didn't know what she could do, or if it would even be possible for Tooth to find himself, but she did feel like she could trust the shark.
Although she didn't really have an idea for some way Tooth could progress in his journey, she wanted to be of some help now, not later. Too many times animals promised to help later and never did. Siren wanted to prove she was true to her word. She didn't have to think much before an idea came to her. After one idea came, it was like it had called all of its cousins, for she was bombarded by ideas.
"Well, I have a couple of ideas...." She announced, still thinking. She wondered which they should try first, however, since this was Tooth's journey, she decided he should choose. "The answer could likely be that there is more than one thing you need to do.... So I suppose you should probably combine my theories if you want to try them.
"The first theory is that you need to figure out what you love most in all the world and focus on that any time you are...... tempted." Though the male had never actually said it, it wasn't too hard to for her to figure out what the dolphins saw that was different in Tooth's eyes.
"Another is that you should do pretty much the reverse and focus on how your family would feel if you did do something. I can tell you care very much about your family, and I'm sure the result of thinking about such a thing would pain you, and possibly, help you to see the light, so to speak.
"Finally, maybe all you need is time away to think and whatever is the true answer on how to find yourself will come to you. Maybe the time away from your family might make you miss them enough that you strive hard enough to find yourself that you just do it." The whale thought a moment longer before adding one last thing. "You could always try to contact the Guardians, too. They might know what to do."

Zulimar swam slowly but steadily out to sea, hooves churning the ocean behing her. She hadn't seen Ari for a while and had decided to try to find him. She knew that there was a tropical reef somewhere out here. Ducking her head under water for a moment, she opened her eyes, wincing at the sting of the salt water. There it is! Only a blur of colour now, but she recognised the shape of the coral. Starting to swim faster, she soon found herself treading water above the reef, looking down through a blur of water at two large, streamlined shapes – one grey and one white. What on earth are those?

His eyes looked up after she said but, a bit of hope formed and he awaited her next words with much anticipation. "Thank you for trying to help me, it seems fate has brought me here for a reason." Tooth replied and started to hang on every word she was saying. It didn't take much to figure out what she meant by...tempted. He looked down ashamed that he had ever been tempted in the first place. His family had raised him and treated him well, and how does he repay their kindness? He sees them as food, that's how.
He quickly shook his head at her next suggestion. "No, never, I'd never want to picture that, I just...I just can't do it. No light would come to me if I pictured that, so I think it's pointless." Tooth admitted, he was so sure it wouldn't work, besides it would hurt too much. He sighed at her next suggestion, it was exactly what he had tried to do all along. Her next suggestion confused him. "Guardians? What Guardians are you talking...talking...okay just what is that?" Tooth asked as he looked up towards the surface. Something was making a very large splash and was swimming closer to them. "I'll be right back." Tooth told her and swam towards whatever was now looking right at them.
As he came closer his shape began to take detail, revealing his dorsal fin and his two fins on the side. His gaping mouth revealed the seemingly endless rows of teeth and his beady eyes focused on the head that was staring at them. "Just what exactly are you land dweller?" He asked, still a distance away from the horse. Tooth had no idea what a horse even was but he'd soon find out.

Siren smiled when Tooth thanked her. She liked helping others. She then frowned when he looked down, clearly looking upset and ashamed. She hated it when others were in pain.
At first, the beluga didn't get his meaning when he rejected one of her ideas. Well, she DID get his meaning, but what if that idea worked? After she thought another moment, she thought of what could happen if what Tooth said was true. A shark with no light in his world.... she thought grimly. That could indeed be a disaster. He could go on a rampage.....
At his confusion, Siren opened her mouth to answer, but stopped as he said he would be right back. She followed the shark's gaze and noticed an odd shape up on the surface. It looked like some kind of land animal. Siren swam up after Tooth, keeping a safe distance from him.
As she reached the surface, she lifted her head above the water and breathed in the fresh air. She looked curiously at the creature. It's proportions were so strange compared to other land animals she had seen like turtles and crocodiles. The legs were so long and thin.... It seemed impossible that they could support an animal of that size...... But then again, she didn't see how any animal could be supported by legs that weren't huge and burly.

Zulimar felt apprehensive as the grey shape slowly surfaced and revealed itself to be a shark. She back-paddled away from the rows of teeth and stared into one of the small eyes. If it wanted to eat me it already would have. Could’ve just come up underneath me and grabbed my legs. She suppressed a shudder at the thought. Her surprise at hearing it speak was quickly replaced by astonishment from what it said. What am I? In what context? Surely you’re not asking what sort of animal I am? She looked down at the reef again, wondering where Arimathea was. It wasn’t like he could fight the shark, but Zulimar felt braver with him around. Looking for the lionfish, she noticed the beluga for the first time, watching her silently. Are they together? I’m positive belugas don’t eat horses.

"Yes land dweller, that's exactly what I'm asking you. You see us sea creatures don't know much about land dwellers like yourself. Are you one of those things called a...cat?" Tooth asked. He had heard of cats before but he had never really seen one. Tooth then swam up to the surface a little distance away from the horse and stuck his part of his head above water, making sure his gills stayed under the surface. This allowed the land animal to hear him even better. It felt weird being out of the water, what the land animals breathed in was the strangest thing. It was everywhere like the ocean was but you couldn't see it. It was like it was invisible or something. You could feel it when the strange sensation of "wind" came around, but once that died down, you couldn't really it anymore.

Siren looked from the odd looking creature back to Tooth. She felt a bit silly as she realized he knew more about land animals than she did. A cat? So that's what this was? She hadn't so much as heard of the word cat, let alone know what it was.
Turning her violet eyes back to the strange animal, she took in the shape again. As much as she would have liked to be able to walk on land and swim like some animals, she figured that even if she could, she would stay in the water, as she would be afraid of walking on dry land. Walking looked hard, and she couldn't see how she could keep from falling over, no matter what kind of animal she were.
Realizing she had been staring, Siren looked back to Tooth. Strange.... she thought as she noticed how the shark was careful to keep his gills underwater. This land animal breaths air, and sharks of course swim and breath water, yet I cannot go on land, and I can't breath in the water.... Now she felt a rare pang of jealousy over the two animals. She could swim quickly, but she couldn't stay under water forever without taking a breath. She could breath air, but couldn't walk on land and swim both. It seemed the other two got the better deal.....
Giving a quick shake of her head, she put her stupid, selfish thoughts aside and mentally scolded herself for it before taking a deep breath of fresh air to further help forget about what she wished she had.
"Hello, land-walker," she greeted the creature nicely with a nod of her head and a smile.
