Male Leader: The male leader of Fate’s Canyon. He can only be replaced by a male deputy. If there is no male deputy, then the high male advisor will replace him. Usually, he won’t retire and become an elder, unless he is physically or mentally unable to lead Fate’s Canyon. He works together with his female counterpart, and makes decisions for the herd. Both have equal power.
Female Leader: The female leader of Fate’s Canyon. She can only be replaced by the female deputy. If there is no female deputy, then the high female advisor will replace her. Usually, she won’t retire and become an elder, unless she is physically or mentally unable to lead Fate’s Canyon. She works together with her male counterpart, and makes decisions for the herd. Both have equal power.
Deputy: The deputy is second in command when it comes to leading the herd. If the deputy is male, then he would replace the male leader if the leader died. It is the same with a female deputy, she would replace the female leader in case of her death. If there is a dispute, and an answer cannot be reached, even with the input of the advisors, then the deputy has the final decision. What they say, goes, in this matter. The deputy also deals with the physical needs of the herd, making sure there is enough food for the herd and such.
Male Leader Advisors: The High Advisor is the male leader’s most trusted advisor, and also serves as his confidant. They are the ones that deal with the leader’s problems face to face. Other Advisors discuss the leader’s problem with the High Advisor, giving their input. Other Advisors are also here to listen to any complaints or problems that herd members might have. They can give thier own adivse, or go to the head advisor for input. Any complaints are carried straight through to the leaders. Other Advisors are also in charge of training their own apprentice.

Peace Keepers: Their main job is to keep the peace between Fate’s Canyon members and other clan members as well, including the leaders.
Ground Protectors: Land based animals that are able to fight, preferably, but not limited to, a carnivore of some type. Their job varies in peace time and in times of war. In peace time, they patrol the interior of Fate’s Canyon territory, just in case of intruders. If they find one, they are to chase them out or towards the gorge, where they can be captured and questioned. In war time, aside from their peace time duties, it is the Ground Protectors’ job to ensure animals do not cause damage to the territory. They work together with the Sky Protectors during war time.
Sky Protectors: Sky based animals that are able to fight in the air, preferably, but not limited to, a bird of prey. Their job varies in peace time and in times of war. In peace time, they patrol the skies of Fate’s Canyon territory, just in case of intruders. If they find one, they are to chase them out or wound them, so they can be captured and questioned. In war time, aside from their peace time duties, it is the Ground Protectors’ job to ensure animals do not cause damage to the territory. They work together with the Land Protectors during war time.
Scouts: They patrol the border, and act as an escort to animals wishing to talk to clan members. They ensure that no animal gets attacked in peace and war time. They also supervise visitors, staying by their side until they leave the border.
Healer: Healers are in charge of healing animals, be it tending wounds or curing a sickness. They have to have an extensive knowledge of herbs and their healing powers. It is preferred that healers be an animal that either have paws or hands, as it allows for more efficient work i.e. It would better for a monkey to be healer than a horse. However, if the later has a more knowledge, they may serve as “apprentice”.
Foragers: Foragers make sure that there is enough food for the herd, and enough herbs for the healer. They also keep a check on quality of food and water, making sure nothing is spoiled or rotting. They are able to call upon Apprentices to help, as long as the Apprentices are not needed by their teacher.
Story Tellers: Story Teller’s keep the knowledge of the herd, anything from history to lore. They are usually elders, as they would have been present for more events than an apprentice. They have to be charismatic, and be able to hold an audience. Like the healer's they choose their own apprentice.
Care Givers: Care Givers look after the elders, newborns, mothers, and assign of-age animals a teacher, allowing them to become apprentices. They make sure all of their cares are comfortable and well fed. They also make sure a healer is nearby around births.
Elders: These are animals that have either entered the “elder” age bracket, or animals that have been severely wounded in combat. They would also be the animals that need assistance around the gorge, like the blind of deaf.
Teachers: Teachers are any animal that have experience in their position. They cannot be the Healer or Story Teller though, as they choose their own apprentices. Teachers do not chose their apprentices, the Care Givers do. Teachers must also hold a “Highly Respected” rank.
Mothers: Expecting or just given birth females. They hold this position until their young become apprentices, allowing them to properly care for their children.
Apprentices: Young animals that are of age to officially leave their mothers and learn a certain role in the herd. They are to be respectful and polite, as well as eager to learn, otherwise they will be demoted to the rank of Newcomer.
Newborns: Animals that have just been born. They hold this rank until they are old enough to become apprentices.
Newcomers: Animals that do not have parents in the herd. They hold this position until they have earned the trust of the leader, and at which point, they will be allowed to ask for a position. In order for animals to leave this position, they must know what the leaders’ and deputy’s names are, as well as their species, and most other animals in their herd.
