There are the rules of Fate’s Canyon. Even though the saying says that rules are made to be broken, these are not. Failure to ignore and break these rules will result in an animal entering a month probation period, or in the case of newcomers, denial of entrance. Continuous rule breaking will result in removal of rank, and eventual expulsion from the herd. There are some exceptions, so read the rules and know which ones they are. These are the rules, follow them:
1. RESPECT Respect the rulers. They are here to lead the herd. If you don’t like something, go to the Lower Advisors, and they will help you, or talk to the leaders. Complaints can be anonymous if you so desire.
2. RESPECT Respect the elders, story teller, and healer. They are important, and should be treated with utmost respect. If they report your behaviour, which they can and probably will do, then punishment will be immediate removal of rank for first offence. Second offence, be it outside probation period or not, shall be removal from the heard. You have been warned.
3. LIMITED SPACES There is a limited number of spaces for certain “Highly Respected” ranks. These ranks are: High Advisor (1 space), Other Advisors (2 spaces), Healer (1 space), and Story Teller (1 space). Do not ask to join these ranks is there is no room, you will be denied, then placed into a rank that the leaders think you are best suited for. There will be no negotiation if you ask, so do not ask. If you complain, you will be expelled from the herd. You have been warned.
4. TEACHERS Animals must “resign” from their position before they can become a Teacher. Meaning, they will not be listed under their previous rank, but will have their speciality listed beside their name under the Teacher rank. Teachers must also be of the “Adult” age bracket, and have held their rank for at least 2 months. This excludes Other Advisors, the Healer, and the Story Teller, as they never hold the Teacher rank. Teachers teach animals that have entered the “Youth” age bracket, and must teach them until they have left that age bracket, and have learned sufficient knowledge of their rank. Teachers have the ability to deny an apprentice “graduation” if they feel they have not learned enough. Apprentices to the Healer, Story Teller, or Other Advisors never graduate their apprentice rank unless their teacher dies or retires.
5. APPRENTICES have another set of rules. Pay attention to these. Apprentices may only occupy this rank if they are in the “Youth” age bracket, and can only graduate their rank once they have left that age bracket. Also, their teachers must feel that they have the ability and knowledge to graduate. Apprentices, if they are not needed by their teacher, can be utilized by the Foragers. They must obey the Foragers, and if they are rude or disrespectful, then a complaint will be made to the leaders. Punishment will be as normal.
6. NEWCOMERS: To join, you must first post IC in your own topic in the herd. Any character may post IC in reply, but only the leaders may accept. Once accepted, you have a one month probation period in which you may interact freely with other members. However, if there is any trouble concerning you with in this one month period, then you will be denied entrance. Once the probation period is finished, you may chose a rank which you want to occupy. Do not ask to join these ranks is there is no room, you will be denied, then placed into a rank that the leaders think you are best suited for. There will be no negotiation if you ask, so do not ask. If you complain, you will be expelled from the herd.
7. ALL MEMBERS: Once you have entered a rank, you shall receive and OOC PM stating your duties, and who you share your rank with. If you are the first to fill your rank, then you are automatically able to start teaching Newcomers if needed.
