Name: Lyrie (Ly-Ree)
Age Group: Mid-Adult
Gender: Male
Clan: Neutral
Herd: None
Mate: None
Friends: None yet.
Family: Many ex-mates, a few kids and two elder adopted siblings.
Species: Tyrannosaurus rex
Physical Description:
Lyrie is a typically sized Tyrannosaur at forty-three feet in length from the tip of his nose to the very tip of his tail, and thirteen feet heigh at the tops of his hips. He weights just under six tons, though likes to say that is a heathy weight for him; being quite below his natural weight of seven and a half tons is not normal for a beast his age. Lyrie is goldish in color on most of his body and only the bravest of animals dare say he is more yellow than gold. He has olive to forest green stripes on his back and legs that look like tiger patterns, and a mask of deep green on his face that starts at the nose and covers his eyebrows and crown of his head. Depending on how the light hits them, his eyes may be orange or red with black pupils, normally orange unless in darker areas. Like all others of his species, Lyrie boasts strong jaws, an acute sense of smell and tiny forelimbs. But unlike most of his kind, he has a slight deformity of his nose in that it is a bit narrower than most, giving him better Binocular vision than other Tyrannosaurs. Though he is bulky and heavy, Lyrie is not slow and can keep up or out pace the best of runners for a time.
Personality:
In Amanija, all creatures are suppose to be kind to one another and predators are not suppose to eat other creatures. But every one knows it is hard for carnivores to give up meat. In fact, it is very hard for them to digest anything but meat and perhaps a few types of plants such as grass. So it is not uncommon for many to have a first instinct of either running or try to talk in a soothing manner to prevent from being eaten when they first encounter Lyrie. Although he looks mean, ferocious and just downright evil, Lyrie is a playful soul who enjoys a good time and is always looking for something new to do. He is quite an intelligent and energetic fellow; often using this to his advantage when bored to please himself or others. He does joke around a lot, but doesn’t ‘tell jokes’ often. You won’t see him saying “So this fox walks up to this watering hole..”, as he likes to make wise cracks more than telling jokes due to the fact that he can dish those out faster without really thinking about it.
Meat still is a big part of Lyrie’s diet and that is not going to change, but the Tyrannosaur will eat plants around other animals that are not carnivores if they would prefer it. Not much for picking things up after others are done with it, Lyrie likes to hunt for himself and will gladly join someone else on a hunt just for the companionship if not for the food itself. An early riser and night owl, Lyrie can be found staying up late to watch the stars or getting up before dawn to wait for the sun to come up. He has enjoyed the company of a few mates, but none have really been able to keep up with his lifestyle, so again he finds himself searching. Even though there are no land predators aside from another dinosaur that could take him on fair and win, Lyrie is afraid of large cats though he would never show that on the outside.
Voice Identity: Jerry Orbach
History:
Lyrie was one of two eggs to be laid in a nest left for dead. When he hatched, the first face he saw was not the face of one of his parents, but of another Tyrannosaur who happened upon the freezing nest of eggs and took them both in. Only Lyrie survived, the other egg never hatched, but Lyrie still had siblings that belonged to the new parent Tyrannosaur. They were older than Lyrie by a few months, but that didn’t stop them from trying to rough house with the new kid in the nest. Most of his young life was spent running away from his elder brothers, who enjoyed ramming into him in a playful way. They didn’t understand that once or twice was fun, the twelfth and thirteenth times were just annoying; especially when they didn’t let him get back fully on his feet before charging him again. Even with all this constant playful bullying from his siblings, Lyrie always stayed the nice guy and never sought out others to vent on. His wise cracks and quick thinking often got him out of more problems than fighting would have, and it never hurt to tell a few jokes when you think the world is about to end.
By the time he reached adulthood, Lyrie had gone through tons of friends, most of who had decided that the roaming Tyrannosaur was just too active for them. This was also true for his many mates; they still hang out with him whenever he drops into the area, but they just can’t keep following him whenever he wants to just pick up and go. He has many children, a few that come tag along from time to time if they feel up to it, but none stay with him for more than a few moves. Because of this, Lyrie is always looking for a companion to share the road with and either gender will do as a friend. Currently he has no clan or herd and chooses to be a loner because he cannot stay in one area long enough to be in a herd or one land long enough to be in a clan.
Is this your first time Role Playing? No, I’ve been doing this for over three years now.
