Hey, I finally got around to making that Dark Realm crud. Just now... [url=http://hyeasterisk.proboards.com][img[http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/4205/darkbuttonmw5.png[/img][/url]
<a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/8151/darkbutton2ke1.png" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/></a><br/>
^ I'm sorry, but if I make that any smaller, the thing goes black. The site is pretty much what I described to Shadow close to when I joined, when I made my character Mokosana. It is an Animal Fantasy RP site, rated PG. Since it's just starting out, it doesn't have many boards, but I would like to go ahead and put an application for affiliation ahead of time. Now then, onto what you've been waiting for... The Dark Realm is a place where the sun doesn't shine, where the moon glows a bloody red. The stars glisten crimson against the violet skies. There are many ways to enter, many ways out--The portals are unlike the environments surrounding them--patches of desert in a tundra, a patch of swamp in a savvanah, and vice versa. These portals are called Terrestrial Portals. In opposition to such portals, are the Aquatic Portals, which sit on the surface of water. The only way to pass through these portals is to fall through--on the other side is another patch of water, depending on which portal you fell through. There are also portals--Gateways--to the other patches of Darkness. Each Gateway resides in the heart of the patch of Dark Realm, and is easily found. The Dark Gateway is the color of blood, and the shape of a roman arch--Made of the root of the Gate Tree, which is in the most unlikely of places. However, this place isn't as bad as it's name suggests. The leader of each portion is known as The Peace Keeper by the Holy Consuls of the Gate Tree. Is this good enough? I'm afraid I won't be able to put the button on the front of the site, but I can make a board for the button. Is that suitable enough?

The point with of affiliating is to put the button on the front page. If you don't know how to, I can tell you how. It's really easy. That sounds really neat, Hye. I'd join but I seriously am trying to keep myself from doing any more rps. There's several I've seen I wanna join and two I thought about starting but I'm really trying not to. I'm going to be working a lot on writing on my books so the two rp sites I'm on now and the three 1x1s on gaia are it. I hope I don't break that and end up joining something else. x.x Really great job though. It sounds awesome!

*phew* Sure, I'll accept help. I really have no idea. xD; Aww. Oh, well. You don't have to join, but I would like other members here (at least) to join. Yay. I made an awesome forum~ *dances* I'm in the process of making the boards now.

Alrighty. You just click admin at the top of the page, click header and footer, then select main or global header (main only shows up on the front page, pms, etc. Global shows up every where) and copy and paste the code. The code for the buttons can be found in the stickied thread.
That's the basic way to do it. Then you can center it, put it in a sidebar, a bar at the bottom or top, etc. If you don't know how to do any of that, let me know which you wanna do and I can tell you what code to put in.

Okay, got the code copied.
So... Is the Dark Realm accepted as an affiliate?
I can figure out how to center, but I may need help with that sidebar. Crud. O-o Does it use HTML?

Yes it is! But we need a button that's size 88 in width by 31 in height. Other sizes make the sidebar look a little sloppy.
Yes, it uses HTML codes < > in the headers and footers, but if you want to post an image on the boards themselves if uses UBBC [ ]
Alrighty. I'll help you with that and anything else you want in coding tomorrow. For now, I'm gonna go. I'm really exhausted.

Okay, I put the button up, but the code you have in the box is a little off. It doesn't link to your site. The code should be <a href="http://hyeasterisk.proboards.com/"><img src="http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/8151/darkbutton2ke1.png" border="0" alt="The Dark Realm"/></a> The last <br/> tag makes it skip to the next paragraph which most sites won't like because of placement. Also, the alt="text here" is so people who have image loading turned off will see the text instead or if they hover their mouse over on some browsers it'll show the text. I changed both of those things in the code above. Photobucket does that too where it links to the photobucket website and the alt text is something about photobucket. Dx Dang defaults. lol Anyway, you'd use this same code for any buttons, with this changed: img src="IMAGE URL HERE" Just copy and past the url of the picture and it that's the only thing you should have to edit on the code. Alright, now do you want to put your affiliates in a sidebar like on here, a table at the top which could also have news etc (like the table on the old waver town) or a bar across the bottom or top of the page? You can also make it marquee and scroll. I like the one here on Dinosaur Realm: dinosaurrelm.proboards.com/ It has two marquees, each scrolling different ways. And do you want any other sidebars? On the left, right, or on both sides? It's pretty much limitless what you can do with coding by editing the headers and footers. You can also go here: support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=codedatabase&action=display&thread=70177It has several very complicated codes that you can just copy and paste in. I know little about coding and the sidebars I used the code from the site there. Only recently did I learn how to code those by hand.

Mass of links overwhelms Hye. Hye has tiny brain that can not comprehend so many codes. Hye can has fried brain. Yeah, I just need a sidebar.. xD Like the one here. I just put in a Chat Box. ^^ I gave in and followed the trend. Plus, it was easy. ^^

xD
<!-- =================================== HTML Left Side Tables for ProBoards - Smangii Style GLOBAL HEADERS =================================== //-->
<!-- Start Main Table //--> <table align="center" width="auto" cellpadding="5"> <tr> <td align="center" width="200px" vAlign="top"> <!-- Start Side Tables //--> <table width="100%" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td>
<!-- CUSTOM SIDE BOX #1 //--> <table align="center" width="100%" class="bordercolor" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="1"> <tr> <td align="center" class="titlebg">TITLE HERE</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="windowbg" align="center">
<div id="scroll2" style="width:200;height:300; background-color:COLORHERE; overflow:auto">
TEXT/AFFILIATE CODE HERE
</div> </td> </tr> </table> <br />
Alright, put this code into the global or main header. This part:
<div id="scroll2" style="width:200;height:300; background-color:COLORHERE; overflow:auto">
the width and height can be edited for how big the box is. Or, you can take this whole code above out and it'll keep stretching as much as needed. You'll probably wanna use it though because without, the affiliate box could get really long. And I'd ignore the color here part because it'll automatically look like the color of the skin for the window bg 1.
If you want another sidebar for the cobox or Member of the month, etc. repeat this part of the code:
<!-- CUSTOM SIDE BOX #1 //--> <table align="center" width="100%" class="bordercolor" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="1"> <tr> <td align="center" class="titlebg">TITLE HERE</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="windowbg" align="center">
<div id="scroll2" style="width:200;height:300; background-color:COLORHERE; overflow:auto">
TEXT/AFFILIATE CODE HERE
</div> </td> </tr> </table> <br />
Again, you can do this with or without the div code where you put the size in.
Then, put this in the footer (main or global; put it in whichever one you put the other code in)
<!-- SIDE TABLES GLOBAL FOOTERS - DO NOT REMOVE //--> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- table = document.getElementsByTagName('table'); for(i = 0; i < table.length; i ++) { with(table[i]) { if(width == '92%') { width = '700'; }}} //--> </script> </td></tr></table> <!-- SIDE TABLES GLOBAL FOOTERS - DO NOT REMOVE //-->
All you gotta do is edit the spot saying TEXT HERE and TITLE here on the one in the header.
