Here is a list of all clans and a brief history of them.
Note that this is the history and things have changed a bit. Any animal is now allowed to join any clan. Also, the summary of what these clans are like is the last paragraph in each section. Again, these have changed a bit, and are not a set in stone thing. However, some of the teachings and values are passed down, so clans still reflect slightly off of their old ways.

Again, these have changed a bit, and are not a set in stone thing. However, some of the teachings and values are passed down, so clans still reflect slightly off of their old ways.
Maninjara
"Of the small world"
This clan was the first to split off from the original heard and was started by the insects and the small creatures like mice and sparrows. They were tired of looking up to everyone, and wanted to go off on their own. They remained allies with the other animals in the land, but liked to do things their own way. Eventually they ended up in a heated argument against the clan of Tundarak. The cause of this was quite a small, unimportant reason. A herd of all flying insects flew over the lands of the Tundarak and stopped to rest on their long flight as they went in search of a new territory. The Tundarak disliked this and went on a rampage. They chased the trespassers off and ended up killing a few of them. Others in the Maninjara clan heard of this and were outraged. They valued life more than any other clan and set off for a meeting with the Tundarak.
Although their numbers were great and they possibly could have won the battle, they refused to fight, not wanting any more to suffer an untimely death. The Tundarak were impressed by this, but did not show it. Ever since, these two clans have settled again. They get along okay, and even consider each other friends and allies, but they sometimes are a bit uneasy around each other.
The Maninjara value life and nature, and refuse to fight. They care deeply for others, and are living proof that, "you can't judge a book by it's cover."
Sasukaeill
"Of the water"
The second to split off from the herd, the Sasukaeill consisted of all marine animals. It wasn't that they didn't get along. They merely wanted to live farther out to sea, which they could not do being in a herd with land walkers. They have remained pretty neutral with the four other clans, and have yet to get into any real arguments or fights. This makes them respected.
The Sasukaeill are a graceful, quiet, kind clan who value the seas and everything in them. They are highly respected by the others and they frequently come to this clan for advice and wisdom.
Zilanthin
"Of the raining forests"
The clan of Zilanthin were neither the first, nor the last to travel their own paths. They left to follow what they believed was a more spiritual journey toward peace for the land, the finding's of one's self, and insight from the Guardians. They chose the rainforests because they believed the peacefulness of it would help them achieve their goal of world peace.
This clan is considered the "hero" of Amanija, as they helped greatly in making the land peaceful. They helped when rogues arose, and they helped settle arguments. They are close allies with the clan of Deterahn.
The Zilanthin are always truthful and are seen as royalty. They are very protective of what is theirs, though not so much so as the Tundarak, and care deeply for those in their clan. Whilst they care for all living creatures, they see death as a joyful thing, since the dead pass into the spirit world where peace is abundant. They value the Guardians, the forests, and death.
Tundarak
"Of the ice lands"
The Tundarak were the fourth to create their own clan. They wished for more solitude and disliked the way the herd ran things. They left for the cold mountains, hoping to live away from the others that lived in the land.
Eventually they ended up in a heated argument against the clan of Maninjara.
The Tundarak are an arrogant, anti-social bunch who prefer outsiders to stay away. They are extremely defensive of their territory and will fight no matter the cost to protect it and each other. Their loyalty toward their leaders and higher ranks is outstanding, and they are likely the most loyal clan. They value the mountains and the winds.
Deterahn
"Of the desert"
The last clan to go solo was the Deterahn. They were the remainder of the animals who had not yet split up into one of the other groups. They vowed to stay together and try to unite all the animals in peace, as the Zilanthin wish. The difference between the Deterahn and the Zilanthin is whilst one chose spiritual health, the other chose physical. While one chose to bring peace among the land but for the clans to remain separate, the other wished to have peace and unite the clans, bringing them back together. While one chose the rainforests, the other chose the desert. These things make Deterahn, in some ways, complete opposites of the Zilanthin.
The Deterahn and the Zilanthin are close allies though they occasionally argue.
Deterahn value good health, believing that the afterlife will take care of itself and one's body should be kept healthy and happy while still in Amanija, and unity. They care for all, but sometimes don't show it. They are ever striving toward good health, a happy life, and for all the animals to become a single clan once more.
