Harvey the Binturong dashed from tree branch to tree branch, a brown-gray blur against a dark green background. He occasionally used his arm-like tail to grab onto a nearby limb he had overshot. Being an arboreal animal, he spent most of his life in the trees, and felt most at home in them, so this was no difficult task. Right now the Bearcat's mind was only focused on one thing, to fulfill the task he had been given. Since in Amanija predators were only allowed a limited amount of hunting, Harvey took the opportunity to make a profit. He would use his turn at hunting to kill prey for another animal, and in return he would get items ranging anywhere from precious stones, to fruits and berries. Being an omnivore, it didn't bother him one bit not being able to eat meat, he still had a forest full of fruits and other plants.
Since his attention was so focused on this mission, he didn't even notice when he shot right over a small gathering of cats. Even if he had noticed, he wouldn't have cared. His target was in sight, a nice, big squirrel. With one last burst of speed, and the snapping closed of jaws, the squirrel would now serve as some carnivorous animal's dinner.
Dropping from the trees to the canopy's floor with a soft thud, Harvey, panting slightly, began to make his way back to his client's agreed meeting spot. But this time, instead of blindly passing the group of felines by, he noticed them for the first time, "I wonder what a bunch of cats would be doing out in the middle of this forest? I've never seen them before." he thought to himself. Climbing up into a nearby tree, he still held the poor squirrel in his mouth. He settled down quietly and waited to see if they were talking about anything interesting, he was always looking for new bits of news to share.

Luna answered his question and started to become embarrassed. There was no reason to but she did anyway. It was not Zeal's intention to make her embarrassed and he was going to say something but Silthret spoke up and solved the problem. Perhaps she knew a thing or two about animals and their problems and what to say? Zeal could tell she'd be very useful to the herd for sure.
"Yes Luna, I was just curious, that's all. No need to stop saying it." Zeal assured her and looked around. This was one odd band of cats, that was for sure. Together they made one very weird herd. But it could work, Zeal could see it already. The only issue he saw was how the herd structure worked. Just a deputy wouldn't do, for this thing to start up there needed to be different classes and different ranks in those classes. His mind suddenly kicked into fourth gear and thousands of different thoughts spiraled around going at least a trillion miles per hour in his head. So many ideas and thoughts at once began to cause a headache but a sudden snapping sound broke through the noise and all fell quiet in his mind.
His ears were up like radar dishes and his eyes scanned the trees. It didn't take long before he caught the scent of the animal and then spotted it. What looked to be a lump of fur was in its mouth as it made its way across the ground. Zeal didn't know what it was, but since it had just killed something he didn't want to bother it. If it wanted to eat its meal then it should do so in peace.
He turned back to the group of cats before him. A few thoughts of the structure still present in his head. "I have thought about what the herd's structure will be. There will be more then a deputy. We'll have hunters and peace keepers. Healer positions for those of us who know how to heal and what to do when one of us is hurt and then the jobless. There will be leads in each class for example Lead Guard and Lead Hunter. To make this clear from the start, you want a rank, you have to tell me why you want it and why you should get it. If I believe you and think you'll do good there then you'll be placed there. If not, then you'll continue to be jobless." Zeal nodded and as he scanned the eyes of all who were around him before speaking up again.
"If you wish to know what each rank does then just ask. A hunter will be the one who hunts for those of us who can't for whatever reason and a peace keeper or just simply our own guardians, keeps the peace. It's that simple really, now...any questions?" Zeal asked and sat down while he awaited a response.

Silthret looked up as she heard a stick snap in front of her. It was small animal with most likely it's dinner in it's mouth. She looked away and back to Zeal. It could eat it's dinner in peace if it would leave. She listened to Zeal's ideas silently. She would say nothing, nothing yet any way. It was good idea if they had a larger herd. Right now they could probably have a lead healer, a lead hunter, a deputy and the alphas. Unless there wasn't a female alpha which then there would be a lead peacekeeper. Once their herd was larger it would work just fine though, that is, if their herd got larger. Yes she would stay until she found no need to be here, that is when they did not need her. She wouldn't stay because of bonds made. She would make herself leave like always. She could keep this one promise. Her happiness meant nothing. She would keep the promise she had made after her brother died. Yes she would keep the one promise that meant something to her. Without her knowing her jaw had set into a face of determination and sadness.

Harvey held his breath when his eyes met Zeal's, but let it out quickly. It had seen him, but either didn't care, or just didn't want to bother with him. He listened intently to the animal's little speech intently. So, it was the leader of this land's herd. It seemed to have the job down pat. He sounded like he knew a lot about what he spoke, and the creature had an heir about him that made others listen, how he switched his gaze from animal to animal, and spoke with authority and presence. But, who knows, looks can always be deceiving.
The binturong's tail curled tightly around the branch he perched upon. His interest was definitely captured by this little group and it's strong leader. Harvey's jaw tightened on his catch, all eyes on Zeal, waiting to see what else the alpha had to say.

Seeing that no one seemed to speak up Zeal let a sigh and then grinned. "Good. If you have a question just seek me out and I'll be happy to answer them for you. If you find anyone that you think would make a good member, bring them to me and I'll see about accepting them or not. Remember, any species can join. Make sure you know that they won't make trouble before bringing them to me. If they just cause trouble then tell me and I'll deal with them." Zeal made sure his words were clear and understood. If they were going to be trouble then they'd have a problem.
Zeal gave some thought as to who the deputy would be. It had to be someone who knew of herds such of this and had experience. Someone who he could trust. That of course brought up Darkflame, but she had never been in a herd such as this. In his mind there was only one animal left...Silthret. He didn't trust her completely yet, but she did have the knowledge and being a tiger didn't hurt ether. He looked over to Silthret, yes she'd probably make a good Deputy.
"Silthret, I have been thinking about something. How would you like to be this herd's Deputy? You seem to know a lot about herds and such and I'd be honored if you'd accept the position. How about it?" Zeal asked, a friendly smile appearing on his face. Yes, he could tell she'd make a good Deputy.
((OOC: Since Azra has been busy and stuff we'll have to move on without her. I waited out for as long as I could.))

Silthret looked over as Zeal said her name and surprise struck her features as she heard the rest of what he had to say. She quickly regained her composure, but not quick enough for no one to notice her surprise. Yes, deputy would be nice. Hopefully there would be many perks to go along with it, but...She didn't want to have a strong tie to this herd. She didn't want to have a strong tie to any herd. The longing to have real friends again tempted her to say yes, but would saying yes eventually lead her to breaking that promise she made? It was the only promise she could make at that time, was she going to start to break it by saying yes? 'I might not break the promise just by being the deputy, but...' All of these thoughts had happened in mere seconds, so it was not too long until she answered. "Um....Sure Zeal, I can do that." She said slowly. This was the beginning of a road for her, where it went she couldn't tell, there was a mountain in her way.

"Perfect. I now have a good deputy and a few new members. Things are looking good for the first day I'd say." Zeal chuckled before looking off to the side as if distracted by something. If one looked hard enough they'd see in his eyes a distant pain and memories long past floating by. He shook his head slowly, his eyes scanning the ground as if looking for something. Zeal didn't like memories, for any memories worth remembering were always painful ones that he'd wish would just fade away with time, but that would be too easy for him, to nice.
He looked up suddenly, staring into Silthret's eyes. "I trust you will not fail me." Zeal told her in a solid tone before looking at everyone in the group once. "Forgive me but I must go off alone for a bit. Something has...been brought to my attention." Zeal told them before turning around and slowly wandering off. What was suddenly brought to his attention was anyone's guess, but whatever it was it was evidently painful as one could tell if they watched Zeal's walk. It looked as if he walked with a great weight that was suddenly thrust into his paws. The power of memories was strong indeed.
Being alone was definitely what he needed at the moment. As vivid memories of his parents swirled through his head, he felt the need to find a secluded spot in where he could just think. His situation reminded him of them. His very words in fact brought up memories of how his parents, especially his father ran things. His mother was right, he was very much like his father. It made Zeal feel proud, but also wary. His father was defeated and killed in a fight. Zeal would make sure that wouldn't happen to him, no he'd have to be more powerful, stronger, faster, a better tiger all around then his father ever was. There was one thing Zeal didn't keep in mind however, and that was his father's age. With age came slower reflexes and a slower mind. One would have to work at it to keep up to par over a length of time.
Though Zeal was determined not to let anything ever slow him down. To be a good leader he not only had to be one, he had to act like one. There was no standing down to fights, no showing any weakness at all, he was to be brave and strong. He was to have no obvious weakness, nothing for anyone to exploit.
As Zeal was lost in his thoughts, his figure began to slowly become engulfed by the surrounding trees and bushes. If anyone from the group wanted him now they'd have to run to catch up.
(Thread will close unless ya'll have somethin' to say to Zeal, then they'd best hurry.)
