Name: Rajiv
Age Group: Adult
Gender: Male
Clan: Neutral
Herd: None
Mate: None
Friends: None
Family: None
Species: Indian Mongoose
Physical Description: Rajiv, like most mongooses, resembles a ferret. His body is long and thin, with short limbs and small paws. His face is cone-shaped and his ears are small. His fur is brown with gray guard hairs. The only exceptions are on his face--his face is completely brown--and the tip of his tail. The tip of his tail is black. He has small black eyes and a pink nose. For mongooses, this is a fairly normal appearance.
Personality: Rajiv is the definition of narcissistic. It is his firm belief that he is superior in every way to everybody else on the planet, without having to put any effort into it at all. In his eyes, anybody who is not making themselves useful to him is to be ignored and scorned, and whoever stands in his way is to be destroyed. Unfortunately, very few people are willing to serve him and so he spends most of his time by himself near his burrow on Mango Island. He likes to take long walks, if only because while he's doing that he can drown himself in thoughts of how superior he is to other creatures. He's somehow gotten the idea that he owns Mango Island, though, and always acts surprised when he comes across others. Then, of course, he tries to tell them to go away. This normally doesn't go well for either party. Rajiv considers himself to be a great leader, but in truth he's far too bossy to really convince anybody to do anything for him. He doesn't take criticism or failure well, either.
History: Rajiv was born and raised on Mango Island by his mother. He had two sisters. None of them ever knew their father, but since mongooses aren't the most social animals, this wasn't strange at all. All the care they needed was provided by their mother, who made sure that her little angels always had food and plenty of praise heaped upon them. She made sure to reward them for each and every little thing that they did. To Rajiv and his sisters, it wasn't really a matter of recieving appreciation instead of punishment; it was more a question of who would be appreciated the most. Rajiv was constantly fighting his sisters for his mother's attention, and their mother didn't seem to be aware of this at all. The siblings grew further apart, and their attention turned from trying to appeal to their mother to sabotaging everything that their siblings did. As soon as they were able to take care of themselves, they each gave the other two scathing glares and went on their own way. Rajiv decided to stay on Mango Island, just a bit north of where he lived as a kid, and he's been there ever since.
Is this your first time Role Playing? No.
Example RP Post: One of Rajiv’s favorite activities (other than thinking of how intelligent and handsome he was) was walking. On his walks he studied the plants of Mango Island, enjoyed the pleasant island breeze, considered himself lucky to be here in a warm climate instead of freezing in the middle of the Tundarak lands, and thought of how amazingly intelligent and handsome he was. So maybe that was just one activity. But he didn't care for details.
He didn’t think of food much, either, since Mango Island had so much of it. You only had to walk ten feet in any direction and you’d pass tree after tree of delicious fruit. Or you’d end up in the water. That sweet, cool water. Anyways, Rajiv was thinking about how great he was, as usual, until he spotted a particularly juicy mango in a tree. A juicy mango on Mango Island! Who would’ve guessed? Well, it would be worth it to go out of his way for a mango like that. He didn’t come across too many of those. (Though it probably didn’t help that he mostly ate the fruit that fell on the ground.)
Rajiv studied the tree and began to scramble up the trunk. Immediately, the years of tree-climbing practice he lacked took their toll. He fell back down. He looked at the mango again, just to make sure that it was still worth it. It was. He began to climb up again. What was the matter with him? His species was supposed to be agile, clever, and physically fit. He should have been able to climb up and get the mango with ease.
He glared at the mango, as if it were responsible for all of this. It was a shame he didn’t notice the approaching threat.
A parrot came, seemingly out of nowhere. He didn’t notice Rajiv, but Rajiv was completely aware of him. He hovered around the fruit for a moment. Rajiv’s eyes went wide with rage. Before he could tell the parrot to buzz off, the mango had been chewed up and swallowed. The parrot smiled to himself. It was such a smug smile. The mongoose's jaw dropped. The parrot, still oblivious, flew away. Rajiv was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
He liked irony. But only when it happened to other animals.
