Name: Matsu
Age Group: Adolescence
Gender: Male
Clan: Undecided
Herd: None
Mate: None
Friends: None
Family: None
Species: Pine Marten
Physical Description: Matsu has a sturdy build to him; his legs are strong and he can easily climb trees. He is about as big as an average domestic cat. His tail is about 6 and a half inches long, and the tip of it is black. He has two upward apostrophe-shaped lines above his eyes that show more in the winter. His eyes are dark brown, and his nose is all black. He has a cream-colored patch of fur on his chest that goes down to a little above his underbelly. Starting around his nose, there is an almost 'U' shaped white patch of fur that goes up to the ends of his ears; this patch is more cream-colored in the summer. In the winter, his fur is thicker than it is in the summer. His ears are a bit curved, also. His sense of smell is not the best, but he can sniff down something if he had to. His eyesight is a little worse in his right eye than it is in his left eye, since he got into a fight and damaged his eye.
Personality: Matsu is a mysterious animal. Sometimes he can be playful and affectionate, and sometimes he can avoid others and be aggressive. He leans more towards being friendly, but he can be very aggressive if he had to. He is easily frightened, and runs away quickly from anything that scares him. His bravery level is very low; he would not be able to go face-to-face with anything that frightened him if his life depended on it. He is a hard animal to truly know; he tends to hide his true feelings inside himself, and he usually only shows the quiet side of himself. You would never see Matsu in a completely relaxed state, he believes since he is a small animal, he must stay alert at all times. Even when he is sleeping, his ears will perk up and down if another animal comes by him. He is bad at making decisions, so he normally avoids situations where he has to. Matsu prefers being alone up in a tree, gazing either at the nighttime stars or at the clouds of the daytime. He is independent, and would rather do tasks alone than with someone else. He often gets angry with himself for being so cowardly, but he cannot do anything about it.
History: Ever since he was about 6 weeks old, Matsu always stayed in solitude. His brother - Kai - would always persuade him to come out and play, but he always stayed by himself either up in a tree or behind a rock. Kai felt upset that Matsu never spent time with him, and left to go find a way to make Matsu more like himself.
Meanwhile - over the span of 3 months - Matsu spent almost all day, every day waiting for Kai to come back. His bravery level dropped severely from being alone and not knowing what to do. He felt sad that Kai left, and thought it was because he hated him. After waiting for nearly 4 months every day for Kai, Matsu gave up and left the tiny patch of territory he stayed in. He taught himself how to catch fish from streams, and how to stay alive during the winter. By the time he was 8 and a half months old, he had his own home in a tiny tree that was located near the territory of a family of Pine Martens. This home served as a place to be alone, and a place to look out into the distance and daydream.
A few weeks after moving into his new home, Matsu desperately sought out someone to be with. He kept an eye on the family of Martens near him, but he did not feel brave enough to approach them. However, one cold winter day, he crept down by the family's territory. He went in the mid-morning - the time that the family went out to either explore or hunt - so he would not get caught. Matsu sniffed around the territory, and fell asleep for a few hours on a rock. When he woke up, three pairs of black eyes were staring at him. One of the Martens in front of him bared his teeth, and then jumped on top of Matsu and slashed his eye; he did this to defend his family, not to hurt Matsu. Fleeing quickly, Matsu went straight to his tree and climbed as high as he could - which was a little lower than the top - and stayed there for a few minutes as the other three Martens glared at him.
After that ordeal, Matsu decided to leave his tree and seek a new home. He found a home a few miles away, which was practically made for him. His eyesight in his right eye worsened a little over the past few months, but that didn't stop him from living a happy life. Currently, Matsu still lives in the home that he found when he was about a year and a half old - now he is about 3 years old. Nothing really exciting happened after the meeting with the Marten family, because he was always too afraid to go too far away from his home. He is still looking for Kai, and he is looking for a friend that will stay with him when he needs someone by his side.
Is this your first time Role Playing? No, I have been roleplaying for about two years.
Example RP Post: The morning sun rose as Matsu woke up and yawned. He opened his eyes slowly, and stood up from the position he was sleeping in. The sky was light blue with small streaks of orange, and the Marten took much fascination to the sky. He always liked gazing up at the sky, it gave him a feeling of calmness. Matsu hopped off of the tree he was sleeping in, and shook the little chips of tree bark off of his dark brown fur. His small black eyes scanned the territory to see if any other animals made themselves at home during the night. It seemed quiet, so Matsu slowly wandered out of the territory. He was a bit hungry, and went to the stream - which he always went to to catch fish - and caught himself a medium-sized fish. As his sharp canines tore into the fish, he looked around to see if any animals were going to try to steal it. When he was done with the fish, he looked into the stream and saw his reflection in the aqua-blue water. Reflections always made the Marten wonder if he saw himself differently than others did, maybe his mind was trying to hide something about himself. Maybe his reflection was really another animal looking at him. Sighing a little, the tiny animal walked away from the stream and went back to his small and secluded home. Hopping back up into the tree, he turned around and looked at the ground. A small flower was alone in a small patch of grass; Matsu felt like that flower, alone but not being able to call for someone. He was angry with himself about how frightened he was about everything, how he couldn't approach animals bigger than him without trembling. He felt trapped inside his own body, he wanted a friend but his body wanted to remain alone. The flower swayed back and forth as a slight breeze came by, and then it seemed to look at Matsu. The Marten nodded, and knew that both of them wanted someone beside them.
