The sun was just starting to set as the lone peafowl was starting to look for a place to rest.He looked around the land carefully as he walked dragging his long tail or train behind him. He was no longer interested in meeting new creatures at the moment. He really just wanted to be left alone and for others to give him his space. He lifted his tail when he noticed that it was making a soft swishing sound as he walked. He did not want to attract any attention to himself. The peafowl was very different from most of his kind because of his odd way of thinking . Of course this was caused by some terrible events that had happened in his life. He looked around as he thought about where he should stop for the night . He decided to stop by a large thorn tree that was up head in his path . He was careful to make sure that there was no one else around as he stopped. He gave a sigh as he saw that there was not another sole around at the moment. He perched by the tree and watched the sun as it set in the sky.

Tired... So tired... It was a thought the white wolf tried to push from her head as she walked on. Every step made her paws ache. When she first came to this land, she began looking for her pack, the one that existed back in the human world. She had traveled the lands of Amanija in search of them. She spent most of her days and even nights searching, but she was sure to rest every now and then. As time moved on, however, she became more and more frantic in her searching. She spent more and more time wandering the land looking for them. Nailah couldn't even remember the last time she had stopped to rest. Deep down, she probably knew that she would not be able to find them. She probably had even accepted it by now. But she couldn't stop her searching, not until she truly had looked everywhere. And now she had. She had looked everywhere but the deserts. The heat was too dreadful there. Besides, why on earth would her pack be in there?
With just one more pawstep, Nailah finally stopped. Her legs were shaking and her muscles would not relax. She slowly lay down to rest and she slowly began to calm down. As much as she missed her wolf pack, she began to let go of her hope of finding them. She put her head on her paws and took a deep breath, too tired to look for shelter. No, she'd just have to sleep right here in the open. At least for now. Not many predators would try and attack a wolf, right? It was then that she remembered the fearsome creatures known as dinosaurs that she had discovered in this land. Some of them were much bigger than her and she would have little hope if one of them decided to attack her. Perhaps she'd just rest for a moment and then look for shelter later.
Nailah began to close her eyes, feeling sleepy. It was a bit early for bed, but she had been walking all day. Before she could fall asleep, however, she heard a quiet rustle in the distance. The wolf opened her golden eyes, but was too tired to lift her head. She saw a brightly colored bird in the distance. Having lived in a large pack for so long, Nailah suddenly felt a longing for company. She considered approaching it to see if it would like some company as well, but it was quite far away and she didn't really feel like walking that far. It would probably just leave if it saw a wolf coming anyway... It might think I'm interested in eating it, Nailah thought. Maybe she'd just watch it for a moment and see what it would do. The white wolf watched with an air of curiosity. She was careful to blink and soften her gaze so that it would not appear as if she were staring at her next meal.

Ah. . . . Fresh air, fresh water! So clean . . . I've never seen it so clear before. Oh, how beautiful! What sort is this? These thoughts ran both fast and slow through the white raven's mind. It stood still, deep blue eyes blinking slowly, white feathers smooth as it stared curiously, first at the clear water of a small pond, then through the clean air. Its eyes caught fast the bright red blossom of a poppy flower. And how well it goes with the green foliage and colorful plants in the valley – right in the very beginning of early spring! . . . Or is it late winter? But then where is the snow?
It was Y's first day in Amanija, and she was in a state of complete and utter bliss – and great curiosity. She became enraptured by the bright red flower; she had never such clear colors before! But then, she remembered the human world, and felt a spark of sorrow deep in her heart. What of their intelligence – was there anything like that in these new lands? Then she thought, Well, maybe there are some here! But everything seemed so much clearer, cleaner, and brighter, it seemed almost impossible – nothing has been tainted. No trees fallen – . . .
Y had come upon the flower. She had plucked it from its roots and placed it carefully between two of her sleek neck-feathers; she then picked up her miniature sling bag and slung the brown thing over her neck and one shoulder. Clacking her beak with satisfaction, she turned round n' round in circles until – to her great amazement – a white fluff of fur caught her attention.
A white wolf! Y, although far from the wolf, still bowed her head in respect for the creature. She would be delighted to meet it – but, the question was, was it aggressive or passive? She followed the wolf's muzzle and with her keen eyes saw at what it pointed – a very bright blue male Indian peafowl.
Quickly, she dashed forward, wings spread wide and flapping as though ready to take off; in her step she hopped once past each small bush dotting the slopes of Sky Valley, until she was close enough to see what was in the wolf's eyes. Suddenly wary of being seen, she hid behind one of those scraggly shrubs and peeked out between the dense mass of leaves and tangled branches, her muscles tense as she readied to fly off in case of attack.
What are you thinking . . . ? she wondered, looking into the wolf's yellow-iris eyes with interest. A blink and soft gaze was what it directed towards the peafowl, who, for the moment, seemed unaware of its watcher. Was the wolf unaware of her, a white raven – an animal that would easily stand out against the greenery of this land?
Seeing the interest of a curious pup – not the hunger of a savage beast – settled the raven, and with an audible sigh she allowed her muscles to unwind. Her feathers ruffled from head to tail, and the ones that didn't smooth themselves out she swiftly put back in place. Ashamed of her fear, and suddenly aware that the wolf by now should have realized she was there, the white raven stepped shyly out from behind the bush, her eyes, although averted, mimicking the softened gaze of the wolf.

Pension had just started to fall asleep when he noticed something move across from where he was. He turned quickly and started to search for the creature . There it was but what was it. He was watching the creature trying to figure out what it was . When he got a good look at her it dawned on him what she was. A wolf . Pension prepared himself for whatever the wolf may have planned . He was not the kind of bird that was very friendly or out going unless some creature came up to him first. He felt himself getting nervous as he watched her. As he watched the wolf he noticed that it was looking at him as well. He conspired for a second rather he should run or not. Then he saw the way she was looking at him . She did not appeared to want to eat him at all. He moved closer so that he could see her better but he was sure to stay under the thorns of the tree just in case she wanted to harm him. He did not see the other bird as she flew around . He only noticed her when she came out from behind the bush He blinked in surprise when he saw that she was a white bird . He wondered how she kept from beging seen but then he thought of his own coloration. That thought made him feel shy and he took a step back. Unlike most of his kind Pension was a very shy creature and often shyed away from most other creature . He would watch these two and see what they would do then he would make his move when he felt more comfortable. Or when they came up to him whatever the case may be he would be ready.

Nailah continued to watch the brightly colored bird, wondering what it was doing. It obviously was not doing anything particularly interesting, but right now she was so tired that her mind began to wander freely like a cloud. The bird itself was a bit interesting, however. It's feathers were bright and beautiful. The peafowl held itself shyly and appeared uncertain of the situation. With bright feathers like those, I would expect him to stand proud and tell. Many creatures would be proud of such colors and would no doubt be egotistical in their every thought, Nailah thought. Then again, I never did understand the way birds think.
In the corner of her golden eyes, Nailah saw something move. She lifted her head and looked in the direction of the movement. How strange... A white raven... Perhaps she would have noticed it sooner, but she was very tired. However, the bird did stick out like a black bear in the snow. The peafowl didn't exactly blend in either, but his blue and green plumage would be less noticeable in green areas. It was then that Nailah realized how odd it must seem to see her here as well. White wolves weren't particularly rare, but in such a green area like this one, it would be easy to spot her from far away. Sky Valley had fairly little vegetation, so this only amplified chances of spotting another animal that did not blend in with their surroundings. But after all, a wolf was less likely to be attacked then a small bird. Not to mention that Nailah usually stuck around the cold regions. Perhaps this raven did too. In her travels, Nailah had seen all kinds of creatures in habits she had never seen them in before. Animals with thick fur in deserts, reptiles in snowy areas.... This land seemed so different from the place she was used to.
As she remembered her home, she once again felt a longing for company. She also wished for a good long nap, but that could wait. If she slept now, there may not be anyone to talk to when she awoke.
Nailah pushed her weary body into a sitting position then to a stand. She held her head and tail lower than normal. An alpha of a large wolf pack, she usually stood tall and proud, looking like a very regal queen. But now she was tired, she missed her pack, and she feared these birds would leave in fear of her. She forced herself to straighten up a little, else she might look threatened and unpredictable. That would only encourage these creatures to avoid her.
The white wolf walked closer until she was about 25 feet away from the peafowl. It was farther away than normal speaking distance, but she didn't want them to feel threatened. If they wanted to come closer, they could do that on their own. She plopped herself back down in a lying position with her hind legs out to the side. She held her tired head up to appear more casual, and also less rude. Nailah had been taught in her puppy days that it was rude for one to look as if they might fall asleep when they were speaking to another.
The she wolf said nothing, unsure of what to say. She gave a little nod and calm blink. I had better at least say something or they may become uneasy or even offended, she thought. She took a breath and spoke in her ever calm voice. "Do you care for some company, bird?" She referred to the animal as "bird" not as an insult, but as a casual address. She didn't know it's name, or even species, after all. She then looked over at the crow and added, "Or you, raven?"

Y watched with wide, gentle eyes as the wolf hauled itself to its paws. She nearly felt a tug on her heart as she saw the white canine do so, as the corvine was able to see how much effort it took an apparently exhausted creature. The way it stood also wrenched her heart, until she realized that it must be trying not to appear threatening – and then her heart soared, even as it took steps towards the blue bird, whom she had nearly completely forgotten.
Speak wolf – please speak! were the raven's hope as she watched the wolf lay down and lifted its head, watching the two birds. And when it did speak she felt her heart go aflutter. The bond between mammal and avian!; another hope of hers. She bowed her head in answer to the wolf's words.
She walked up to the wolf, keeping her eyes averted from the canines' – as she had learned was a traditional rule for them. Instead, she watched the sky, full of wonder at the way white scudded clouds drifted beneath a background of blue sky. Reaching the wolf's side, but staying still a cautious few feet away, she turned to the peafowl and also bowed her head. No need to put full attention on one beast and ignore the other!
Y twirled on her toes before sitting down, reaching into the sling bag 'round her neck and pulling out a small strip of meat, which she set down in front of the wolf and nodded towards it. The raven, of course, took out something for the peacock: flower petals that had come from various species of plants. She stood up, walked a little ways toward the peafowl, and set them down as well, nodding, hoping that the other bird might be able to see them. She then retook her place beside the wolf, the curve in her bill now seeming to be a smile with her newly brightened face.
After what might have been a few minutes sitting, the raven pushed her beak back into the sack, to drag out her newest object yet: a string with what, to her, were strung with beautiful wooden beads of all sorts of shapes and sizes. It made a nice prattle-sound when shaken, and gleamed nicely in the sunlight. Y set her head down in the midst of the necklace, basking in the warmth of the golden rays that made her white feathers sparkle.
"Wolf, peafowl," she murmured, hopefully loud enough for both to hear. "Sounding like the leaves in the wind. . . ." She lifted her head and stared round at them both. "Names?" And, remembering a little something called 'manners': "I am Y."

Had the wolf known Pension better she would know why he was so shy and not very out going .Pension watched the two creatures carefuly as they came closer. He flet very nervous but he tryed to ignore it for the moment . He did not want to seem like he was a cowared. He watched to wolf stand . She looked like she was tired . He felt a little sypothic for her actualy. He watched her move closer to where he was . He stood quietly waiting for her next move . When she asked her question he thought for a second then moved a little closer and was about to anwser when he saw the raven come closer . '' Y....Yess. '' he stutterd in responce to wolf's question . Then he glanced at the raven watching her for a second . He gave a surprised look when she layed down flower petals for him . He was not sure how react to such a kind act . He was still shy and was sure to keep at least a few feet away from the others. He watched her as she took something eles out of her bag. It looked like a string with something tyed to it . He had seen humans were simlar items arounds thier necks in his homeland. When she asked for thier names he had to think for a second . It had been a long time sience he had said his name.'' I...am..P..Pension....'' He said finaly after a few seconds of thinking.

Nailah watched the raven carefully, although she avoided looking directly into it's eyes or stare at it. Wolves learned this when they were very young and although Nailah was the alpha female in her pack, she did not want to make the bird feel uncomfortable. Instead, her look was one of curiosity, for this animal seemed quiet unusual.
When the raven offered Nailah a piece of meat, the wolf was quite surprised. It seemed odd enough that she had some sort of thing that humans carried things in. But for a raven to carry around meat and offer it to a wolf... However, when Nailah's black nose caught the scent of it, she realized she was hungry. She wasn't starving and the pain in her tired legs was more of a worry at the moment, but it certainly would be nice to have some food in her belly.
Nailah carefully sniffed the meat, almost without thinking. She wondered what kind of animal it had come from and why the white crow had been carrying it. But those things didn't really matter a moment like this, did they? This piece of meat was hardly a bite for a large wolf, but, after giving it a good sniff, Nailah happily snatched it up.
Once she had eaten the meat, Nailah looked back up at the others, who were now introducing themselves, the peafowl, as Y the raven had called him, doing so in a very nervous manner. "My name is Nailah," she said gently to the birds. She then turned her eyes to the nervous peafowl and gave a slight smile. "Please try to relax," she said warmly. "I am tired and I mean you no harm. Y seems not to either. She even gave you flower petals." Nailah's voice was soft and motherly, like a mother speaking loving words to her pups. Nailah briefly wondered if acknowledging Pension's nervousness would only make him more nervous. She could be a little too bold at times. But she did want him to relax. She felt sorry for him, the way he seemed to uncomfortable.
((Sorry the post isn't very good. But it's decent enough I guess.... It's a decent length but the writing just doesn't seem very good.))

The raven was nearly out-of-it when the two had finally spoken their names, but she shook herself awake and nodded gratefully to the wolf, glad that her offering had been taken. Noticing the peafowl once more, and its great bout of anxiety, shifted herself a little closer to both canine and bird, and then, in the hopes of helping the blue-feathered avian relax, whistled a calm, soothing tune in soft notes.
Then, suddenly, unable to help herself, the raven shot up to her feet, the wind brought up by her wings lifting up the beaded necklace; she ducked her head, allowing the piece of jewelry to entwine itself around her neck. Never stopping in her whistling, she began to dance around the wolf, tiptoeing and twirling and performing aerial somersaults.
"The wind makes my feathers fly, and I take off with the leaves!" she cried happily, and started in a merry little tune. With a great bound, the raven took off into the air, circling around the wolf once, twice, then spiraling upwards, wings outspread and picking up on the rising air of a thermal. She continued upward, disappearing behind a cloud, then reappearing as she shot downward. The raven, in a clumsy landing, had her feet shoot out from under her, and she went skidding in a head-over-heels tumble that was stopped by a small shrub, and within the branches did she again disappear.
"Oh – oh," Y gasped, hopping out of the shrub, shaking leaves from her feathers, and settling herself down in the same spot she had been before she had begun dancing. From her neck, the cord fell, and the beads dropped and began to roll away, but not far. Too happy to care at the time, Y flopped down onto her back and heaved a great sigh. "Ahhh . . ."

Pension was trying his best to relax. He moved on out of the thorns and looked at the wolf and raven . This was about as trusting as he was going to get for the time being. He was sure that they did not mean him any harm but still he remained wary of them.He frowned now as he noticed the wolf noticed his nervous actions. ''II..ssee..''Pension said his voice sounding slightly more relaxed than before. He was not scared of them but he was very shy. The fact that noticed did not bother him much. He watched to to and noticed that the raven had started to wistled a tune now. It was a claming one but he did not relax too much. He watched her as she stated to fly around the wolf. he gave a puzzled look wondering what in the world she was doing. In his homeland of India he had see the natives perform silar dances but of course they did not fly up in the air. When she made her clumsey landing he restited the urge to laugh . The good news was that their efforts paid off and he was more relaxed now not as nervous as before.

As the raven settled down beside the wolf, she felt a sudden movement beside her. Looking up, she saw the white animal rushing away towards the setting sun. A pang of sadness entered her heart, but she dare not leave at that exact moment – no, there was another creature that seemed to need tending to.
Rolling over, shifting her weight onto her feet, she stood up and slowly began to approach the peafowl. She stepped on a fallen bead, slipped and fell onto her back with a grunt. Mumbling, getting back onto her feet, she began to gather up the polished beads and broken string, placing them in a side-pocket of the sack 'round her neck.
"Come, peafowl," she said in a soft voice. "How about we go over to that tree of yours, and sleep the night away together?" Without waiting for an answer, she was already walking away towards the tree she had seen the peafowl beside before. She expected his answer to be not words, but an action; that he would follow her into the tree's branches and settle in beside her to rest.
Wings flapping, she lifted her light body into the air and, picking a branch midway up the tree, alighted on the brown bark, partially hidden by a thick curtain of green leaves. Still watching the peafowl with one eye, she sat down and, as if to fall asleep, tucked her head into a wing.

Pension watched the wolf as she left . He was slightly currious but decided not to ask.He knew that wolfs were strange creatures who often made desions very suddenly. He turned and watched the white raven as she got up and started to walk towards him.He stood quiely as he watched her. He no longer felt as nervous as he was before. He watched her trip over a bead that had fallen he restited the urge once again to laugh at her.He had to think for a second when she invited him to sleep beside her in the tree for that was not a question he had expected .He was hesitant but he followed her to the tree. He as loner was not use to be sleeping with some other creature but it beats beging all alone. He watched her fly up to a branch . he gave a slight jump as he flapped his wing and landed next to her. He did not bother to get too close to her but at least he did land next to her not falling as he was prone to doing at times. He flet a little akward but he tried relax as he closed his eyes trying to go to sleep.

For a while Y stayed awake, watching calmly the setting sun. Its orange light burned across her feathers before disappearing below the horizon, leaving the moon to begin its climb in the east. Before it even first appeared, though, the raven was asleep.
. . .
At dawn's first light, Y awoke. Blue eyes blinking, she yawned, stretched her wings, and, with a glance at what she thought to be the still-sleeping peafowl, fluttered off the branch and landed with a dull thud in the tall grass. She sat down on the lit side of the tree, staring at the pale yellow light and pink clouds around a tall hill – behind it, the sun was rising.
The raven took a small meal from her bag – the last of her pieces of meat. She'd have to find another carcass soon and create a stash – no need to carry an unnecessarily heavy bag around, was there?
After long minutes of sitting there, making sure all the pockets were shut and nothing was rotting inside the bag, she stood up and looked back at the tree. She stared up at the branches, where she expected the peafowl, Pension, to be – unless he had somehow gone off without her knowing. She had been waiting for him to wake up, so that she may bid him farewell – for the moment, of course. But if he wasn't around soon, she would have to leave without saying a word – after all, a wanderer at heart, the raven wasn't one to stay in one place for long.
So, whether she was able to say goodbye to Pension or not – which she would have done while whistling a quick tune for him – she turned away from the tree, and, taking a few hops forward, spread her wings and took off into the air, spiraling upwards on a warm updraft until she was able to soar, high above the valley, towards somewhere new.
And, who knows? Maybe Pension would decide to follow her, or simply go his own way. Whichever, the raven figured it was his own decision to make.

Pension had fallen into a peaceful sleep for the first part of the night . Then he began to dream of his past . He woke up and gave a sigh. He felt himself shakeing as he tried to clear his head now. He then rembered that he had a guest this time. He glanced over to see if the raven was still asleep . ''I gusse she left then.'' Pension said noticing that she was not there. He did not bother to look for her just then. He stared at the sun that was now starting to rise in the sky. He would need to get going now. he gave a leap from the branch causeing the surrounding branches to shake. It was then he notised the raven not to far away from where he was . She was starting to fly away so he did not say anything. He felt better when he was alone any how.'' Good Bye Y . '' He mumbled as she whent off. He did not think she need him slowing her down anyhow . Besides he would need to find a place where he could finaly kill the memorirs of his past and not burden others with his problems.
