Silthret let out the breath she was holding, suddenly, at the sharp pain to her ear, but she immediately felt the animal holding to her on fur. A quiet chuckle came from her lips and she tried to think of what she could do. Then,as if someone whispered the answer to her, she got it. A small smile crept onto her lips, but she waited for a moment to catch her breath.
The problem was simply that that ermine on her neck. She could easily get him off with her plan. She might reconsider letting the small animal live, but she had to get him off her before she killed him.
A small thud could be heard as she fell to the ground on her stomach. Then as if pushed she slid to her side and then rolled onto her back pushing her neck back. Her legs laid flat against her stomach and she squirmed her neck around in the dirt, waiting for the weasel to get off.

By now, Edward had become quite proud of himself for his heroic, brave attempt to "fight the tiger for his life," as he put it in his mind. However, the ermine wasn't the smartest. He often lacked common sense. For example, he didn't think about what he would do, should the tigress lie on her back. When the moment came, he realized his mistake and scrambled to get away.
The weasel creature couldn't get out from underneath the tiger very fast, and ended up being slightly squished, though the only thing that was actually hurt was his pride. His back left paw felt a little sore too, but other than that, he was fine. It was unlikely he would stay unharmed for long though. While any other creature would have ran, Edward only distanced himself about ten feet from the huntress, then turned again to face her, teeth barred.
"You think you can win that easy? I'm not letting some over grown house cat win," he said, emerald eyes narrowing.

"I was going to let you live too, but now that you've called me a house cat. I think I'll reconsider." She threatened baring her teeth. She started taking steps towards the little weasel, one paw at a time. Dust started to come up as she put her powerful paws down, dust that dulled the gleam of her sharp claws.
A smirk erupted on her face and she watched the Ermine. Waiting for a hint of emotion to crawl onto his face. A hint of fear or anger. Maybe sadness, she didn't know. Her light blue eyes searched him quickly and as she stopped, three feet in front of him, she let out a low rumble, only to be thought as a roar. A roar that shook the trees and inspired fear in most animals. Fear that would freeze them in place, and except their deaths for them.

Edward froze at the tiger's words. "You-you were? Well you know, I was only joking," he said with a grin. He wasn't afraid to fight, but he could always use some more friend. And if he could get this great big tiger to befriend him, imagine the pranks he could pull on other animals!
The weasel gave a small start and stood up on his hind legs again after hearing her mighty roar. "Hey hey hey! You were gonna let me live, why change your mind because of some silly little thing I said?" He looked a little nervous now, and instinct told him to run, but he ignored it. "I mean come on, with your size and strength and my cunning, we could be great pals... er.... buddies. Right?" He was actually pretty serious this time. The tigress intrigued him, but he couldn't quite pin-point why that was.

A laugh came from her mouth and she said, "Fine, fine, I'll let you live, but you should remember to hold your tongue with other animals because come on, a house cat. You can't call such a magnificent and refined animal, like myself, something like that. It might get on someone's nerves." She said, backing up one step and smiling a bit, looking at the little Ermine.

Edward frowned and sat down, seeming to be totally relaxed now.. "I tend to tick other animals off easily. But hey, that's their problem, not mine," he said with a slight shrug of his shoulders. "Besides, what makes you think I'm not magnificent?" The ermine asked with a grin. Here he was, having just been spared from death, and already he was making jokes and treating this tiger like his best friend. Perhaps when he had amnesia and had forgotten most all of his life, he forgot common sense as well.
"Name's Edward, by the way. Such a regal name is fitting for me, don't ya' think?" He asked, closing his emerald eyes, standing up straight, and puffing his chest out. Yep, common sense definitely wasn't there anymore. Or maybe the reddish-brown creature had never had common sense in the first place.

"Please, I'm magnificent, you're just...Um...Interesting." She said smiling, "It is a regal name, but I'm not sure regal suits you." She added joking. "Silthret, so why are you out here? Hunting as well?" She asked looking him over. She supressed a laugh as he puffed out his chest, but she still smiled.
She had just spared this creature from death and here he was acting the same as before. No thanks and what not, just the same. He wasn't even frightened before. His personality was funny, such a little animal acting bold and...brave? Maybe brave. Maybe she would befriend the little creature after all. He was funny, bold, stupid at times, and small. Just like a little pup. She couldn't help, but let a smirk wander over her face and keep it there. A small chickle came out of her once more.

Edward frowned at her comment about his name, but soon grinned when he realized her tone was only joking. Maybe this big house cat had a good sense of humor..... That was a necessity to the little ermine.
"Don't really know. Exploring, I guess," he said with another shrug. He looked up at the light, fluffy clouds, questioning himself as to why he was out here. Then again, he planned little of what he actually did. Edward was one that liked to wander and just "go wherever the wind blows."
The small creature looked back to the tiger, now known as Silthret, and titled his head to one side at her chuckle. "What?" He asked, looking confused. He wasn't offended, but very curious. "What?" He repeated again. "Is my fur standing up or something?" He turned his long snout toward his back and quickly scanned to see if there was anything funny about how he looked.

"Except for the cat-likeness and the coloring, you look exactly like one of my baby brothers before-" She stopped herself looking for another topic to speak of, she saw the pictures of her brother's dead body appear in her head while the human's dragged him away, after shooting him down.
"So nice weather today isn't it." She said quickly before her words could set in. She didn't want to let herself linger on that topic too long, it would just make grief, when there once was happiness. She looked around, trying to not focus on any one thing. Maybe if she didn't linger on the topic longer, she would be fine. But she wasn't fine, the image of her brother had appeared in her mind as real as if she had seen it again through her own eyes, the same emotions hit her. She struggled to stay calm and look so as well.

The ermine tilted his head to one side as Silthret's brother was spoke of. He blinked his dark colored eyes and looked curiously up at her, wondering why she had stopped talking. He wondered if maybe she had some bad memories. Maybe she and her brother fought. A wiser creature would have jumped onto the new subject, but Edward was not exactly wise.
"Ya' know, I lost all memory of my family. I can't remember anything about my life, except what happened in the past year," he rattled on. His heart was in the right place. He was trying to make her feel better. He failed to realize that she didn't want to talk about it though.
Though he was trying to be encouraging, there was nothing really special with what he was saying. It wasn't as if he was telling her some big secret. He'd tell anyone about his amnesia without a second thought. It wasn't sad, or embarrassing for him. It was just part of his life.

"Really?" She said blankly, staring into space, "So you remember nothing of where you came from." She looked at the little Ermine curiously once more and then looked up at the sky as she felt a little raindrop splatter on her face.
It was the perfect weather for her mood. She was downcast, but she had a way of hiding her feelings usually unless her brother came up, then it took her a minute to clear her head of the memories and pretend to be okay. She took a deep breath and looked back at Edward.
Her eyes were no longer bright, but dull, the usual glimmer or sparkle had disappeared along with her brother. That is until she forgot the memory. "I would love to have the same thing that you have. Amnesia would be perfect, I wouldn't remember anything about my past." She said, pretending to be happy.

The ermine closed his dark emerald eyes and shook his head as she repeated what he had said. It often made other creatures feel sorry for him, but he wasn't too upset about it. True, he did want to know who his family was, and what his life had been like, but you couldn't be too sad about it when you couldn't remember anything.
Edward opened his small eyes again and twitched his round ears as he heard a quiet splatter on the ground beside him. He turned his eyes up to the sky, as Silthret did, and took in the clouds overhead. Rain. Well, that wouldn't stop him from his adventures, after he was done talking to this tiger, of course.
The weasel looked back to the female when she spoke. He gave a quiet chuckle before replying. "Well, it's a bit annoying not remember, but it is a bit fun in a way. It's like one big adventure to find out who you are, ya' know?" He had given up the desperate search for the past, but he still liked to wonder about what his life had been like.

"It would be fun and so serene, so what if you don't know what you've done, it's what you are doing now, that matters. You wouldn't remember anything bad, of course you wouldn't remember anything good, but not much of that happens to me unless it follows up with something bad." She muttered the last part to herself and her small smile started to fade.
Maybe this new friend would disappear as well, that was the trend of her life, if she had something good, it would be taken away. Even this new home would probably be taken away from her through death. She would have nothing.
Of course that was how it always was? Wasn't it? First her mother, than her only sibling, her brother. Her father had already left, and then she had to leave her home. And now everything was going fine, until again it would all mess up somehow and everything would turn against her. Wasn't that her life? Couldn't she just accept that?
No, she wouldn't she would find a way to hold onto what she had, maybe she would come out on top for once, at least where it really mattered. She would hold onto this friend and make sure he would stay around. She would try, like she did with her brother.

The ermine didn't hear the last part that Silthret murmured. He thought about what he had heard, then closed his eyes and shook his head slowly. "I guess it's a pretty even trade. No bad memories, no good memories.... I mean, maybe my life before was fantastic. But maybe it was horrible...." He thought a moment longer, then seemed ready to put the subject aside. He did have a short attention span for most things.
"Hey, I'll race ya' to the river, okay? Ready, set, go," Edward rattled at high speed before zipping off without waiting for a reply. True, he was sort of tricking her in a sense by doing this, but he just saw it as fun. Just one of the fun little tricks you played on friends. Sometimes the tricks he played on friends weren't so fun though......
The little creature laughed quietly as he ran full speed. He was small, but quite fast, and he darted around, under, and through gaps in the bushes without losing speed. His flexibility helped with that.

Silthret chuckled, being brought out of her dark mood. She ran after him, trying to catch up. Strong muscles flexed underneath her skin. Her paws touched the floor of the area and a light mist of dust was brought up. It tainted her white paws and she looked after the small animal. If a chase was what he wanted he would get a chase, but he would not win, no, no, she had never excepted defeat.
She had a competitive soul, filled with battles and victories. A smile curved on her lips and she watched the little ermine, closing the distance easily, as if she was out on a walk through the jungle. Her long legs carried her there. 'Almost there, almost there.' She thought. Victory was close enough to taste, maybe she would overtake the small animal and be able to bathe in victory. Rub it in, show off, her competitive spirit would take her anywhere.
