A little red and white blur quickly darted along the soft soil. It stopped a moment and stood up on it's hind legs like a meerkat. The swift footed creature looked around once with his emerald eyes, then zipped off again, like he was spying on something. In reality, the small ermine was playing his own odd little game. What the game was exactly, or how it worked, he couldn't even explain.
The weasel like creature known as Edward could never keep still, nor could he focus on something "real" for any length of time. He was always playing his made up games in his made up little world. It was this reason that others sometimes got annoyed by the easily distracted animal. He could be very fun to play with though, and always had often had something humorous to say, even if it was not intended to be funny.
The little beast slowed to a trot, then simply moved through the bushes, humming some old little song he made up on the spot. He definitely moved to the beat of his own rhythm.

Silthret prowled the barren lands surrounding her. She was hunting, watching for anything she could eat. Her black, white, and orange body shimmered in the sunlight. She could only eat one meat meal per week, but if she didn't catch anything today she could just find someone to befriend. Maybe...Maybe not. A small sound came from an area to her left and she watched a small weasel move around. 'Perfect. She thought.

Edward continued to walk around, stopping here and there to sniff something, and humming his odd little song. He seemed to not have been doing anything at all, other than whatever popped into his little mind first. Now, however, he caught the scent of something very close that smell absolutely wonderful. "Oh boy! I might be eatin' good tonight!" He chirped, running toward the smell. It happened to be a bush full of some sort of small, blue, berries.
The ermine stopped and stood in front of the bush, sniffing the fruit first. He then gave a weasel's smile and ate a few off the bush. Normally, a creature such as himself would be carnivorous, but he had been in this land long enough for that mysterious power to over take him, allowing him to eat fruits and plants and to actually enjoy them as well. He still liked a little meat now and then, however. Still, this berry was one of his favorites.
Eating another, he looked very pleased. "Oh, oh yeah! That's good..... That's so good...." He continued muttering to himself, half closing his eyes. He was completely oblivious to the large feline watching him.

Silthret almost chuckled at the Ermine's ignorance. She smiled a bit, or what could be mistaken for a smile. She started walking towards the bush waiting for the perfect moment to pounce on her prey. 'Almost, there.' She thought. She took another step, surprised at how nimble she was and how ignorant of it's surroundings the Ermine was. 'Almost there.' She told herself again. She stepped on a rock and it cracked underneath her giant paws. Every muscle in her body immediately tensed and she crouched low to try and conceal her bulk.

As he chewed the sweet, juicy berries, the weasel still hadn't noticed the predator, eagerly waiting to sink it's teeth into his soft fur. He was too enticed by his meal, and he was one that didn't like to worry about things much.
If most animals had amnesia thrust upon them and was unable to remember about their family or friends, they likely would become cold and depressed. For Edward, however, everything was bright, cheery, and brand new. He was always looking for fun and always doing someone entertaining and perhaps a bit odd.
As he heard something moving, the little creature suddenly spun around and stood on his hind feet again. "Wh-who's there?" He asked. His voice sounded more curious than fearful. When he spotted the tiger crouched down, he knew he was being hunted.
"Hey, hey, hey! What's the big idea, wise guy? You can't eat me; I bet I don't taste good. Besides, I'm a little ol' helpless, defenseless ermine without a friend in the world....." As he said the last part, he took on a fake sad expression. It wasn't so much that he was trying to trick the tiger, he merely couldn't keep from joking around for long. "You wouldn't want to kill little me, would you?"

A rumble came deep from Silthret's throat, and she laughed. It's a strange site to see such a large animal laugh, but it didn't last for long. It was a dry and cold laugh, that usually sent shivers down spines. "Well, if I could find something bigger, do you think I would be hunting little old you?" She asked, "Anyways, it would be so fun to hunt something after the long wait I've had." She added at the end starting to pounce. Of course the little Ermine had no idea, she wasn't going to kill him at all, and that's what made it even more fun.

Edward's emerald eyes got a bit bigger as the tiger crouched and prepared to spring. He quickly moved out of the way, not ready to be dinner for this large beast. "Fine, fine! You wanna be that way, then I'll fight you! C'mon, bring it on, big guy.... or.... girl," he quietly corrected himself. He crouched slightly and barred his teeth, trying to look fierce. If he couldn't scare her, he was going to make a run for it. No one in their right mind, not even this odd little weasel, was going to attack a big cat like that. Still, he could pretend, couldn't he? Well, maybe he was just looking tough for the fun of it. Here he was, about to be eaten, and he was making a game out of it.
The little creature ruffled his rich, red-brown fur up, trying to look bigger than he was. "Come on! Whatta ya' afraid of, you big scaredy cat?" He apparently wasn't afraid of egging the opponent on. Of course, in some situations, that could be helpful. He had learned before that if the enemy would get too angry from the insults, they would become careless. It made one wonder; was this ermine odd and a bit insane, or brilliantly genius?

A laugh erupted from Silthret and she said, "Fine I'll play your little game." She looked from him to her surroundings and back. She found the perfect place to corner him. She moved to the left a bit, waiting for him to do the same.

((Ah sorry that was supposed to say scaredy cat. I dunno why it censored it..))
Edward kept his teeth barred and moved slightly to his left, still facing her, making it so that he was moving the opposite direction than the tiger. He never really seemed to fear, even when his life was on the line. Everything was a game to him. And now, as he sat, preparing himself for the attack, he still found the situation a interesting.
The male went over his plan in his head. Well, he didn't really have a plan exactly, but he was planning what he would do, depending on how this large feline would do. He was sure he could manage this. The adventurous ermine was fearless and confident in himself.
Edward crouched slightly, prepared to spring forward, or run off, if the tigress so much as twitched. Still, his 'prepared' wasn't all that prepared. Though he always made at least a bit of a plan, he usually ditched his plans last minute and made things up as he went.

Silthret moved forward a step, as to not alert the Ermine that he was backing himself into a corner, made by two rocks. The game was far from over, but she had already won, even if he tried to run now she could easily pounce on him and win. Nothing could be done about it, but she still liked the sass he produced at such a situation, so she decided to let him live. She could wait for weeks without meat, it was pure delicacy now. Something she wanted, but was so rare, she could have once a month, sometimes less. She frowned upon those who had meat every single week, it was like ruining something so good because you had it to much, it would bore you eventually. She smiled as she watched the little Ermine. She didn't speak back to it's sass, so as not to egg him on, but she still found it amusing.

Edward stayed still, unsure now of what to do. He didn't like it that this tiger wasn't talking back, nor attacking. Not that he wanted to be attacked, but when the opponent remained so still, it made him a bit nervous. Okay, so the she-cat had taken a step and wasn't actually "still" but she was making less movements than the quick footed animal liked.
"What's wrong with the -blocked- cat? Come on and attack me already! I'm a poor little ermine with no defense. Surely an animal such as myself isn't even a challenge for you....." He continued, pretending to look like he was idoling this powerful tiger.
What's with her? Why hasn't she attacked yet? He thought a bit nervously. In fact, it was starting to irritate him. Had he been a hunter like her and wanted to get a meal, he would have attacked much sooner. "Stop stalling and come at me already!" He half shouted, losing patience. It hadn't actually been all that long since this feline had shown up, but to Edward, it had seemed like he had been waiting to be attacked for hours.

A laugh erupted from deep inside Silthret's throat, but her eyes never moved from the little Ermine's shout at her. She smiled and took another step closer. 'Why hadn't he backed up yet. I would've backed up if I were in his position, Why isn't he backing up?' She asked herself silently, still looking calm.
She wasn't nervous or anything like the small animal in front of her, but she was slightly annoyed by him not being like other animals in his position. They would've made a run for it or done something besides stand there.
She watched him trying to sum him up and figure out what the heck he was planning. Running? Hiding? Fighting? Another laugh made it's way out of her lungs at that plan. No way would an animal that small, think that he could take on a tiger like her. A low growl erupted from her throat. Maybe this would make him move.

Edward continued to think of any reason why the tiger would take so long to attack, but his thoughts were interrupted as the bigger animal gave a growl. The ermine gave a small jump, more from nerves than fear. He looked confused a moment, then he barred his teeth again and managed his own tiny growl. It was quite comical how he stood up to this cat and tried to look tough.
The brown-red little animal was not going to move. He had made up his mind, and he would stick to it. Unless of course this great orange tiger came at him.... Well, he wasn't going to make the first move anyways.
To try and trick her, he slowly closed his mouth, relaxed his muscles, and stood up straight rather than crouching. He sighed before murmuring, "I guess you win....." He paused then said, "Go ahead, eat me now!" Would his trick work?

"Oh come, come, what do you take me for? Stupid? Never in my life has an animal given up his or her life, I don't think the circumstances are different here. You're probably just trying to trick me." She said almost laughing once more. This time instead of just growling she had to do something more, he had proven that he wasn't moving so maybe is she acted as if she was coming at him he would move. Maybe, but it was highly unlikely he would move backwards. She had to block off any other ways.
A growl erupted from her throat for the second time and Silthret pretended to get ready for the attack, crouching closer to the ground, but at the last second, she lost her footing and bounded up, into the air quickly, she wasn't above her 'prey', she was still a bit in front of it, but she had closed the distance in between her and him. She was coming down fast and then she felt her feet touch the ground. Her teeth were barred and her tail was up in the air, tensed for the 'kill'.

Edward narrowed his eyes and growled at the tiger when she saw through his plan. Well, she's smarter than most of the animals I've met.... I'll have to try something else, he thought. He didn't have much time to think before the tigress jumped into the air, looking ready to attack.
The ermine gave a quiet squeaking gasp and scurried away. His gasp wasn't from fear, but surprise. He had sort of ran around her, though he ended up going under her shadow partly. When the feline landed with a soft "thud," he wasted no time in running up her leg and sitting on her neck, just behind her head. He bit her left her with his sharp teeth, then locked his jaws on her neck fur, holding on tightly so that hopefully she couldn't shake him off.
"What do you think now, you big stupid cat!" He grunted, mouth still full. "I actually did quite well. Yeah I'm smooth," he complimented himself.
