Kenneth was swimming slowly through the water. The sun was setting for the murky water was getting darker. He sighed "Anther day alone." he said gloomily. He clicked many times hoping that the noise bounced back disturbed but, it was just the sides of the water. Kenneth feeling lonely needed at least a little company.Kenneth looked around and surfaced for a breath of air.

Looking around curiously, the mighty tiger realized he had a problem. "Uh-oh.... I think I'm lost...." He murmured, looking up at the trees. He shifted his gaze to the wet ground, then the horizon. Nothing looked familiar, and yet, everything looked familiar. This place looked the same all over. There was nothing that really stuck out for the strawberry-blonde striped animal to find his way back. He blinked his amber and blue-green eyes, wondering how long it would be before he could escape from this place.
Tybalt, as the tiger was called, flattened his ears against his head, embarrassed by having gotten lost so quickly. He had known when he ventured into the Lost Lands that many lost their way. Still, he had thought that it would be different for him. That he would be able to find his way out. Now, he doubted that very thought.
He lifted his large head into the air and sniffed. I can't even smell anything over that wretched stink of rotting plants, he thought. He turned his eyes up to the sky. It was starting to get dark and he needed to find his way back. As he observed the clouds absentmindedly, he starting walking again. "Maybe if I could get up higher I could pick up a scent that would lead me in the right direction," Tybalt said to himself, not noticing the creature that surfaced not far away. "Yeah!" He exclaimed, becoming hopeful. "I'll just climb up to the tip tops of the trees, stand on my hind legs, stick my nose in the air, and-" His words were cut off as the land ended and he fell face first into the water.
The tiger was submerged until the warm water, his eyes wide, taken by surprise. Quickly, he paddled back up to the surface and pulled himself back on the patch of land he had been on. He sat down and tried to get past the shock of it. In the moment he began falling before he hit the water, in that briefest moment, his mind had started making up stories of cliffs that could be in the area that he had fallen off of. It's okay. It was just a little drop into the water.... He calmed himself.
Tybalt gave a great shake to rid his coat of the water. As he turned his head to look at his wet fur, he frowned. "Ah great. I'm covered in swamp goop," he complained. He then started licking the fur on his back. He was disgusted by the taste, but he didn't like all the algae clinging to him. He stopped mid-way through his third lick, with his tongue still against his back, as he finally spotted the dolphin. It was sure to have seen his moment of stupidity.

Kenneth clicked in a laughing way. "I give you a 10, beautiful performance." He said with a teeth bearing smile. he swam up to where Tybalt was "Whats a little algae gonna do, I heard its good for your skin."He explained to the tiger. "Isn't your kind supposed to like water." He asked him. Suddenly Kenneth saw a fish swim by and he darted for it. He chomped down into its flesh piercing its heart killing it instantly. He carried it in his mouth to where Tybalt was and surfaced. he dropped the fish on the bank. "You hungry?" he asked the tiger.

Tybalt's ears flattened and his tail swished at the animal's comment. Why is it that every time something like this happens to me, someone is watching? He wondered. The point that he himself did not get was that things like this happened to him quite often because he was a very clumsy creature. Most of the problem came from the fact that he was unobservant and never seemed to notice what was going on around him. The rest of the problem stemmed from the fact that Tybalt didn't use his head much.
"Yeah, I like swimming, but not in dirty water like this," he said, looking down at it. Cautiously, he dipped the tip of his right fore paw into the water, as if testing to see if his point was right. He pulled his paw back out and looked at the white fur. "Yuck!" he exclaimed, rolling his tongue forward and out of his mouth as cats do when they taste something they do not like. It looked, felt and smelled gross, but the tiger began licking it off. He wasn't like most. He didn't mind being dirty. But this... This was beyond dirty in his mind.
When the dolphin dropped the fish on the bank, he looked down at the meat morsel, then back at his new acquaintance. He wasn't sure if the fish was for him or not. "Starved," he said in response. "I was trailing a deer and that's how I ended up here in the first place," he said, specifically failing to mention that he was lost. "What's your name?"

A large white figure padded slowly across the damp, mossy ground. Every time the creature put a paw down, a small squelching noise followed. Hearing a noise, the muscular animal looked up, and headed towards the source of the noise. In the distance, a tiger and a dolphin were talking. Stepping out into the sunlight to stand behind the intruders, the figure revealed itself to be a white tiger.
"Greetings, young travelers," said the muscular she-tiger in a low, yet welcoming voice. "What brings you into the heart of this desolate swamp?'

At the sound of a voice, Tybalt turned his large head toward the noise, his ears perked in curiosity. His eyes froze as they rested on the female tiger, while the male felt himself swallow in an attempt to get rid of the lump in his throat. The clumsy tiger was always one to notice the females. He was often quick to make a move, which nearly always ended up disastrous. It seemed Tybalt couldn't do anything without making a fool of himself. His next words were proof of that.
The golden tabby tiger opened his jaws to speak, but, as his eyes stared at the icy blue orbs of the fellow feline, he blabbered something incomprehensible, like a young cub who hadn't yet learned how to speak. It took him a second before he realized his words had failed to make sense. He shook, as if ridding himself of the dust, hoping it would rid him of his embarrassment, then tried again.
"Hi there. I'm Tybalt," he said confidentially as he puffed his chest out in a show-offy way. He looked like a cub who had just made their first kill and was showing it to the adults. "I'm just exploring," he lied. "I saw this huge deer the size of a whale!" He continued, crouching slightly and flicking his tail as he began to tell his story, acting it out a little.
"And it was fast and vicious looking. It had these huge fangs and when it turned to fight me it let out a vicious growl! I fought and fought but the beast was too strong. It laughed at me, then turned and skipped away. And I chased it," he said, tip-toeing across the ground, as if stalking something. "Then I tackled it and wrestled it to the ground some more," he said, flipping over on his back and fighting the air. "It tried to beat me up, but I had it this time! I was just about to give this monster a good bite on the neck so I could have my meal, but all of a sudden, it jumped up and ran super super fast! I guess I scared it off pretty good," he finished, sitting up again and once more puffing his chest out. He gave the female a grin, not realizing that, after rolling on the ground, he had a few splatters of mud on his head, along with some loose grass blades, making him look quite silly.
Suddenly remembering something, the tiger turned back toward the dolphin. However, instead of speaking to the animal, Tybalt took the fish in his jaws, then turned back to the white tiger. He jogged closer to her, then sat the fish down on the ground and nudged it with his nose to show that it was for her. Once again, he sat his striped rump down and smiled warmly, the mud and grass still on his head.
((I know. Tybalt is an amusing character. xD))

The large she-tiger watched the mud-covered animal reenact his tale, not believing a word of it. When he was done, she just gave a small smile.
The moss squished noisily as Tybalt presented her with the fish. Shaking her head, ahe explained,"No thank you, I have already eaten. Besides, you look hungry."
The tiger sat down, and looked around calmly at the small, stunted trees that covered the marsh.
(lol, he is quite strange!)

As the female rejected Tybalt's gift, his ears flattened against his skull briefly as he lowered his head, feeling a little embarrassed. Before the same second was over, he straightened up and relaxed his ears, deciding it was best not to dwell on such. He was hungry, after all. He gave a nod of his head to the tiger, then crouched to take the fish in his mouth. He ate it in two bites.
"So, uh, what's your name?" The golden tabby tiger asked curiously. He stared at her with his colorful orbs. His eyes were a dark amber color on the outer half, while the inner part of his irises were a beautiful shade of dark blue-green. Over the top of both colors of his eyes, there were bright golden flecks. It made his eyes beautiful and mesmerizing and gave them depth. They did not at all fit his personality. While he was a good hearted creature, he was not very clever, and was even a bit dim witted.

Kenneth remained quiet throughout. After Tybalt's story he thought to himself, "He is worse at making cover up stories than I am.", and that made him chukle a bit. "Hello, I'm kenneth." He said to the female tiger. He dived under water and caught another fish and ate it. He surfaced by the two tigers. "Anybody want fish, I can get if anybody wants some." He said outloud.

Turning to the dolphin who had introduced himself as Kenneth, the white tiger shook her head. "My name is Shiba." Shiba pointed with her tail behind her. "If you two are looking for the way out, it's that way." Her two orb-like eyes rested on the two creatures. Looking deeply into the eyes of the younger tiger, she suddenly smiled slightly.
Tybalt's eyes were very clever looking, but looking deeper Shiba saw the young, kind-hearted animal he was inside. A light wind rustled the leaves of a nearby bush, and a dark cloud floated ominously in the distance.

When the dolphin spoke, Tybalt turned to look at him. He felt a little embarrassed, for he had forgotten that the dolphin was there at all. He had been too distracted by the beautiful white tiger before him. His sights had been set on impressing her, but he wasn't sure if it had worked or not.
At Kenneth's offer, Tybalt gave a nod. "Thank you for the fish. I was pretty hungry. I would like another, if you don't mind," he said, smiling politely at the dolphin. If only Tybalt could dive into the water and catch fish like that... Kenneth made it look so easy. Although, as much as the tiger liked swimming, he didn't think he would want to swim in that water. It looked awfully dirty....
As the female tiger spoke, Tybalt looked back at her. "Shiba..." He repeatedly thoughtfully. "What a beautiful name." He started to smile at her, only to see her smile first. Her smile was warm and beautiful, and looking at it sent Tybalt's heart pounding. He returned a large, unintentionally lop-sided grin. He only hoped she couldn't notice his heart beat. It felt as if it could be heard miles away, and yet, he himself didn't hear it. He could hear the blood pounding in his ears, but he couldn't hear his heartbeat aside from that. Certain that Kenneth and Shiba could not hear it, he felt relief wash over him.
Coming back to reality, Tybalt leaned to one side, staring in the direction Shiba had pointed. It looked the same as everything else, but he trusted that she knew what she was talking about. Shifting his colorful eyes back to her, he realized that she might somehow know he was lost. His ears flattened against his skull and he looked a little nervous. "Uh, I wasn't lost, you know," he said, his tone polite, as if he was merely pointing this out. He then relaxed and let his ears turn forward again. "I know exactly where I am. But thanks anyway."

"I'm on it!" Kenneth said as he submerged himself. He darted off towards shallower water where most of the larger fish feed on the fry. He darted after a medium sized fish killing it in one snap of his jaws. He carried his catch back to Tybalt and Shiba. He dropped the fish infront of Tybalt. "There you go." He said to Tybalt.

Shiba watched the dolphin disappear, then reappear again with a fish in his mouth. Looking back at Tybalt and noticing a slight unease in his eyes, she cocked her head, still smiling. "Well, I don't see many other creatures this deep in the swamp because of the fact that there is little food, so I had assumed that the two of you were lost.", she explained calmly, her ice-blue eyes never leaving the younger tiger.
"But if you aren't planning to leave before nightfall, you can sleep in my cave for the night, and there is a small lake near there where you can rest." Shiba looked over at the dolphin again.

Tybalt sat and watched Kenneth swim away after more fish. He couldn't see where exactly the dolphin was most of the time due to the murky water, but when he could see his new friend, he felt a little jealous. Kenneth could swim to easily and so well. He looked so free in the warm water, almost like a bird flying in the sky in some way Tybalt couldn't explain. Whenever he himself tried to swim, it looked more like and elephant clumsily splashing around. But swimming was something Tybalt certainly did enjoy.
When the fish was dropped in front of him, Tybalt thanked Kenneth with a nod of his head. He ate it in only a few bites, but he didn't feel nearly as hungry as he had before. "Thanks," he said when he had finished. "That was delicious." Shifting his eyes back to the water, Tybalt gave a quiet snort of laughter. "Who know that something coming out of nasty water like that could taste so good," he said to himself. The water wasn't nearly as dirty as it looked, but Tybalt had no way of telling that, and he wasn't about to try drinking it.
The young tiger looked back to Shiba as she spoke. At her offer, his jaw fell open slightly and he looked at nothing in particular as a grin crept on his face at the thought. Yes, her offer sounded like a good idea. Spending the night instead of leaving mean he got more time to talk to Shiba! It was a perfect chance to get to know her better.
"I appreciate the offer," Tybalt said with a respectful dip of his head. "I would like to rest in your cave for the night. I can worry about finding my way back in the morning when it's light out," he said, not realizing he had just admitted that he was lost. "It'll probably be a lot easier than trying to leave this swamp at night when it's dark."

Shiba smiled, then got to her paws again and disappeared into the undergrowth behind her. Her long tail trailed behind, waving gracefully. The sounds of nightfall were starting by then. Crickets were chirping, and small, nocturnal, mammals were beginning to emerge from their dens. In the distance, the screeches of bats could be heard.
'What a beautiful night.', she thought, the cool air like soothing water on her skin. Shiba had always enjoyed the night, for she couldn't help but admire the calm peacefulness of the darkness, and the millions of stars glittering overhead. The swamp smelled as bad as ever, but she didn't notice it. After her first year living here, Shiba had learned to ignore the stench. Then her mind wandered to her family, something she often thought of when she wasn't doing anything in particular.
Her father, tall and regal, stood in her mind's eye, his yellow eyes full of strength and determination. Her mother, kind and gentle, sat next to him. She sighed, and banished the thought from her head, returning to reality. Sidestepping, she just barely managed to avoid a pit of mud, carefully hidden under a layer of moss. Several years of living in the swamp had taught her where all of the danger areas were. 'I wish...I could see my brother again, just once.', she thought.
